PLANO The Ismaili Muslim community announced Tuesday that it is building a $6.5 million worship and community center in Plano, where it has found a warm welcome.
Gov. Rick Perry flew in to lay the first ceremonial brick for the center's foundation. It was a symbolic gesture since the site for the new center will be a few miles northeast of the Gleneagles Country Club in Plano, where the foundation ceremony was held.
The governor, who is friends with the Ismaili Muslims' spiritual leader, His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan, said he was honored to participate.
"Our culture is enriched and our society strengthened by a diverse mixture of traditions, heritages and faiths," Mr. Perry said. "While differences may exist on the surface, there is a common hope for the future that dwells in the heart of every Texan."

Sheesh.....and I had always thought Plano had its head on straight. Guess I was wrong.
Do those officials do similar brick-laying ceremonies for new churches and synagogues? Just curious....
This is the same town the link to terrorism funding amoung Islamists was out of. Nice. Thanks Perry, for taking time to spread the PC bull$hit.
His Highness should come down from his high horse long enough to realize this is America and not some third world country trapped in A.D. 700.
"Bricks" should be replaced with "goats".
Hope no one flies a Plano into ito.
At least they're Ismailis. Ismailis generally have a law-abiding, enteprenuerial bent, not unlike Jews and Sikhs in some respects. Wahabis consider them to be apostates.
LOL!
"Ismailis generally have a law-abiding, enteprenuerial bent, not unlike Jews and Sikhs in some respects."
I got that same impression, just from brief website search on them.
They appear to be "mostly harmless" (to quote the Hitchhicker's guide), from what I gather. Kind of the Presbetyrians of Muslims.
Just about the time I place him ahead of KBH he pulls another "boner". How much of my tax dollars in jet fuel were wasted on this trip.
Did he bring a ham sandwich for lunch?

(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,
What a bunch of crap.
Bricks of what? C-4?
Gov. Perry then handed them the actual rope they will use to hang him with. These hate centers need to be shut down, not built up and spread out.
Paid for by the funds solicited from the same people that it is designed to destroy.
Good grief! More pagan temples.
Yes, Gov Perry..Many Texans common hope for the future is that our state does not become infested with Islamic Mosques of any type.
Perhaps you need to spend more time on FreeRepublic. Posted here last week.

Of course, that was before Carole Keeton McClellan announced she was running.
Prove it. Islam in particular does not "strengthen" any cultures it infiltrates. Time to take of the rose-colored blinders, Mr. Politician.
This is outrageous.....
HA!
You beat me to it!!!
Hope the blocks they are using are hollow and fitted with listening devices.
Yup...I should have run a better search, instead of just running a search on Plano and not finding anything.
Hey! What's that handwriting I see on our nations wall????
"Separation of mosque and state!"
Perhaps he could have used those "symbolic" bricks to symbolically stone a woman wearing a skirt, if he wants to endear himself to the psychotic death cultists.
My home town. Depressing.
The residents of Plano need to show up en-masse at the site of this proposed international house of hate (IHOH) and let the governor and anyone else concerned be aware that although the structure might be legal by the letter of the law, it will not be allowed to be built, and the residents of Plano will stick together to see that it isn't by whatever means available to them. The powers that be seem to think that islamic terror recruiting centers can be built anywhere with impunity and sentiments and sensibilities of the community be damned. It is time for the will of the people to be asserted over that of the traitorous politicians who want to destroy the US from the inside out.
Sad part is that with the "technology sector" being based partially in Plano and partially in Richardson, there are MANY Muslims, as well as Hindu, Budahist, and others that may very well make a major minority.
Gone are the days of the Christian's (true followers of Christ, not just Christian by name) having a majority voice in the D/FW area.
