You know, it is not that I want to throw him under a bus. It's just that I don't think much of him anymore. Temptation is one thing, and I would wager that every man is tempted by something or other that could possibly lead to trouble at least once in his life. Taking that extra step when tempted is another story altogether, and as much as I want to focus on the positives in life, an adulterous relationship sends a pretty clear message about a person's character.

I'm aware of all the good things he has done over the recent years and have enjoyed listening to his interviews. His advocacy for our troops, hunting, and living off the land are all things I find very commendable and honorable. But none of that means much to me now, or at least my opinion of him. Like Kobe Bryant, the mention of his name will immediately remind people that he dishonored himself, and cheated on his wife.

He can apologize, try to be a better man, and live up to the responsibilities of his actions - and he needs to do all of these. But doing so won't wash away what he did in a moment of human weakness. Only one thing can do that, and the good news is that he, like all of us, can be forgiven.

Good luck with the flooding!

We've all been tempted - my point was we're not tempted every night by the likes of Catherine Zeta Jones. We're human - forgive him and look at all the other good things you recognize in him and let's go on. If nothing else it helps people to see we conservatives are human too. :-)
