You are correct. I have written my congressman over and over again on this issue and he has ignored me. He is too busy running around the state talking about his dream of a "self driving car"

The country's air power is growing through the purchase of new fighters from Russia, such as Su-30 fighter-bombers, as well as the development of its own fighter jets, such as the J-10. Gen. Hester compared Chinese warplanes with those of the former Soviet Union, which were less capable than their U.S. counterparts, but still very deadly. "They have great equipment. The fighters are very technologically advanced, and what we know about them gives us pause for concern against ours," he said.

It must be procurement time again at the Pentagon.

In the past, China was not an expansionist power, and I doubt that they seek to be this time, but for Taiwan.

And all of Indochina and Siberia. If they have ruled it in the past they will try to expand to rule it again.

Things you've outlined in your books are starting to happen. Scary.

Many Chinese Military advances, thanks to the TRAITOR, BJ Clinton.

As testement to the American people's continuing STUPIDITY, not only did we elect him twice, the REPROBATE Klintoon is still walking free, whereas sane societies would have executed him, or at the very least, imprisoned him for life.

"I suggest you educate yourself on the 1978-79 Vietnamese-Chinese war."

Welcome to FreeRepublic.

And I, sir, respectfully suggest that you educate yourself to the fact that you are talking about the Chinese military of 27 YEARS AGO!!! Things have changed since then.

No nothing has changed since then. I could care less about China's new tech. It would still be very much an infantry war.

if you dont think Vietnam cant whip China's ass if they invade, you along with the Japanese, French, Americans are in for a lesson about what happens to those who try to take on the vietnamese people.

You dont think the Americans and French and Japanese were just a tad bit more advanced than the Vietnamese?

There are many Domino theories and some evidence to suggest that they sometimes happen.

Vietnam was fought by fat politicians in D.C. We could have leveled Vietnam in about 45 minutes had they allowed the military to fight without restrictions.

You don't think that China would hesitate to 'yank the bone out' and go nuclear in order to take over SE Asia (Vietnam)? Please do not compare the French military to ours in any way. You won't make many friends here by being so argumentative (and misinformed).

BTW, we were not fighting just the North Vietnamese in Vietnam. China and the Soviet Union were heavily supporting them both militarily and financially. If you don't think that things have changed in the last 27 years, then I can't help you, except congratulate you from successfully coming out of your long coma.

wow you sound like a shill for the Chinese, very defensive easily offended and shrill. You seem utterly insulted that anyone would question the ability of China to defeat vietnam.

I question that ability. I can guarantee you the People's Liberation Army is in no mood to attack Vietnam.

You're the one that brought up the Chinese-Vietnam war. See your post #12.

"WOuldn't China retaliate by cutting us off from the Panama Canal? (Thanks to the brain-dead idiot Carter.)"

I have a relative who worked for the State Dept. on the transfer of the Panama Canal. When I brought this subject up I was told that Carter had very little to do with it. Seems the transfer was in the works long before Jimmy took his place in the oval office.

Bill Gertz was just on Bill Bennett's radio show.

Hopefully Americans will finally realize that purchasing Chicom goods for decades has enabled the Chicoms to build up their military capability.

Washington never ceases to amaze....where have they been the last few decades? This is not something Beijing has strategically developed overnight. This is something that has been in the works for several years ever since Chang took his people to Taiwan after WWII. The vast majority of westerns, while many claim to understand the Chinese, the vast majority do not even have a clue. To understand Chinese methodology, strategy, etc. requires a firm understanding in their history. There are very few in Washington who retain the capacity to understand the intent of Beijing. I have been to China several times and have lived among the Chinese not in traditional tourist dwellings but rather in their homes. There is concern Washington does not understand the Chinese the way it needs too. China IS becoming a superpower that will make the Russian Cold War look like a pea in the sea. Dealing with China will be by far the largest diplomatic task any administration in DC has ever faced before. China is no Iraq, no Russia, no Vietnam. It is much extensively more sophisticated, more advanced, more intelligent, more patient and more willing. Dialog and understanding is the key to peaceful diplomacy.

jimmuh was/is *not* a brain-dead idiot.

he was/is a dedicated communist advancing world socialism, and has been internationally recognized as such by the socialist international, under the guise of the "Nobel Peace Prize Committee"

the reason he is so successful is that everyone mistakes him for an idiot and believes he will 'sin no more', as a result you end up with jimmuh down in venezuela making sure that Chavez gets through his sham referendum unscathed. it worked!

because you can usually, safely disregard the danger an idiot will do to you since he is usually to stupid to hit a vital spot -- it is better to think of jimmuh as a cunning enemy, perhaps every bit as cunning, and as dangerous, as hillary...

as in chess, the effect of jimmuh's moves are just now beginning to bear fruit to america's enemies, while at the time they were made they were thought to be merely "blunders" which could safely be sloughed off...
