top of my list is Oklahoma, believe it or not.

That would be the top of my list too. When I read your list of four, I picked OK right away. They know something about freedom there, and the economy is has a wide range of opportunities.

If I had to go back west (I'm from AZ), I'd be looking at OK.

When are you moving, and if you happen to go through Tucson, we MUST get together.

I recall Hitlery wearing a black pantsuit with what looked like a hastily sewn-on lace collar to "soften" the look. Pathetic.

Are people saying it's a phenomenon globally right now? That's what the BBC seems to be saying. How long til there are crackpot global warming/ozone layer crackpot "scientific" warnings?

We have "ozone alert" days herein Austin, TX, during the summer months. During those days, people are encouraged to take public transportation and leave their cars at home. A an incentive, bus rides are free(!). Supposedly, ozone fills the air and combines with auto exhausts to create smog. Maybe, I suppose. All I know is that ridership doesn't seem to go up on those days and my drive home still takes just as long.

Nothing short of major surgery could soften those
looks :-)

Pretty mountains and lakes. High plains desert. Wind. Mostly conifer forests with a few aspens and cottonwoods. Working ranchers complain about a hard life. Hobby ranchers send engraved invitations to roundups where everybody gets to play cowboy for a day. Low crime rate. Long distances between towns. They close Interstate highways during snowstorms. People die from exposure when their cars get stuck in remote areas. Bears eat dogs. Small towns that bore kids. Natural resources (gas, oil, coal) booming creating lots of jobs. Very little manufacturing. No state income tax. I like it.

Jesse for sure, and all by myself I remembered Tony Compolo. But only because he was the guy walking/laughing/crying as he and Clinton exited the Ron Brown funeral and saw cameras were rolling.

My taste in SciFi is different so I'm going to watch Pendragon's War of the Worlds even though everybody says it sucks except the woman who writes the news:rec.arts.sf.movies FAQ.

Well, my route is taking I-40. In order to hit Tucson I'd have to take I-10 right? This is all preliminary of course.

George Allen is the Man

I tell ya, I could listen to him for hours. Looking forward to the Republican convention in 08, even though heaven knows I don't want to rush GWB's term.
