Except in the bluest counties in my blue state it really is democrats driving Hummers, who tend to be minorities as well.

The only minorities I have ever seen driving a Hummer (I live in NYC) were usually celebrities.

The overwhelming number of Hummer drivers, here or any other blue area are almost always going to be white.

Ever read the full speech of Calvin Coolidge's "the Business of America is Business". You would think it was a ode to greed and capitalism from that quote but his general speech was about morality and the need for ethics in business and society.

Capitalism is by far the most moral economic system yet invented. Socialism needs terror and the secret police. Capitalism needs free minds and free markets.

A great and unchanging profound TRUTH!!! The only one's bichin about who's drivin a HUMMER is somebody who is either envious, or jealous! Envy is destructive, but jealousy causes one to go out and earn/git their own danged HUMMER!!!

Personally, I went out and got my own little RAV-4! What a hoot that little buggy is!!! (superwidegrin!!!)

I don't envy you having that beautiful Lexus, because envy would be thinking you shouldn't have one of those. I'm almost jealous enough to think I should have one just like it, but maybe a newer model. Am I drawing too fine a distinction? (or is it distinkshun?)

Parking in NYC is such a pain in the wallet, only celebs could afford to park a Hummer..here in the blue counties of MD surrounding Wash DC, alot of the whites tend to be serious progressives who prefer Toyota prius' to Hummers. I have seen plenty of "blue" democrats who also happen to be minorities over in PG county driving the large beast. I don't think the progessives harangue their minority counterparts on the left about the morality of driving a gas guzzler....Cadillac escalades tend to be pretty popular in PG county too. I always find it astounding to drive by a working class apartment complex and see a Hummer in the parking lot.

There are a small handfull of folks in my neighborhood who own hummers, but they have their own driveways or garages.

That said, I know 2 of them personally, and another guy who was a neighbor of where I used to work.

I don't know what their politics were (I don't want to guess) but they didn't fit the normal yuppie sterotype, they were guys who lived in the city but loved going upstate every weekend or going out to the woods every chance they got.

They also liked to go clubbing and stuff, so it did help them get girls.
