The only character that was every even remotely political was Elaine. In a couple of episodes we saw that she was pro-abortion and anti-fur. In another episode she showed political correctness in being militantly anti-smoking. However, often, these views were used as straight lines for Jerry or George.
IMHO, during the good seasons, the show was the funniest ever on television. There were a few seasons where the writers got lazy and the show suffered.
Could it be that the Seinfeld liberal is simply someone who is totally selfish and self-absorbed - like the characters on the show?
