I'll bet she's back next year.
It's really "interesting" living here in Canada -- they have all these ads (on tv, paper, radio) extolling how nice it is to visit Cuba, but, honestly, these people here in Canada really haven't a CLUE what Cuba is all about....the media echos the Canadian government policy towards Cuba (allowing tourism, economic help and the like) -- TOTALLY the opposite of the US's policy....I can't help but wonder if Canada just allows tourism ON PURPOSE as it is just another way of "tweaking" the US....

I can't help but wonder if Canada just allows tourism ON PURPOSE as it is just another way of "tweaking" the US.... Good point. Supporting repressive governments is a time-honored way of trying to "tweak" the U.S. But it's a childish game that only hurts local people.

Personally I suspect that it's not so much tweaking the US as it is simply that they want to make a profit by doing business in a country where they don't have to compete with American businesses. Same with Europe.
Though they are perfectly willing to let us THINK that money has nothing to do with it, and that they are simply more enlightened than the US.

Sometimes it is not enough to be "Not the United States". What does Canada stand for, except for not being the United States?

Cheap Canuckle heads.
Think Cuba is a "bargain" and the misery there is Bushs fault.
Many Liberal and NDP leaders have never seen a dictator they did not like.
