I love the grunting. More grunting!

Yes, because it really brings out the cavewoman in her.

"As we have said before ....... that noise is needless and wrong."

I don't know about "wrong" but I disagree with needless. Most martial arts include a grunt or "kia" when striking or falling that tends to strengthen the core (torso) and focus energy into the strike. I don't see why the same wouldn't apply in tennis or any other sport.

grunting

"On the court she reminded me of the margay, a small wild cat, like a miniature leopard, that lives in the jungles of Central America. Her emerald-green eyes had the look of a creature who you knew would never quite belong to anyone but herself. She was still only “peanut-sized”, as her father, Yuri, called her, with long, skinny legs and arms, corn-blonde hair, braces on her teeth and a dusting of freckles on her nose.

But when she went to strike the ball, her little cat-face would bunch into a snarl, her body would coil itself like a spring behind her racket, she would hurl herself at the ball and, with an ear-splitting banshee scream that sent shivers down your spine unleash a laser-guided ground stroke." - Simon Worrall

***********

This beautiful creature is ONE OF A KIND!!!!

I hear you....... but tennis was played FOREVER without all this noise........................ it should continue without all the noise, imo.

Maria sounds like she's having excellent sex when she hits the ball............. hmmm.

I have no problem with a grund and the torso issue is a great one, but she elongates her noise and projects like a Yetti horror flick.

That's my favorite pic of her. Like the whole Russian "talking out of the side of her mouth" thing.
