Cholera is easily prevented - a little bleach in the water supply - and presents a truly miserable death. If this one spreads it's because it was meant to.Before Mugabe, the water supply was safe. After Mugabe, the pumps and pipes were ripped out and sold for salvage. People drink water from holes in the ground that are subject to fecal contamination. It was an expected consequence.

I'm sure it's partially because, as noted above, the bowels of the city have been ripped open. I would guess there are a lot of people about to di a rhea awful death as a result.
