BTW, good job of channeling Noam Chomsky and International ANSWER by trotting out the old & irrelevant Rumsfeld photo anytime supplying Iraq with weapons is mentioned.

Ohhhh...I learned that from you, when you quote from George Soros and his buddies from IWPR, B92 or HRW....

BTW...how "irrelevant" would that pic be for ya, if Milosevic was on it...???

hmmmm....I even heard "rumors" that the USA supplied the Taliban with arms during the "Afghanistan War" in the 80's...I guess, that was a "fact-finding operation" too...

The United States provided about 1,000 Stingers to Afghan rebels fighting the Soviet Union during the 1980s, and an estimated 100 to 200 are believed to remain in Afghanistan.

We did supply weapons for the Afghans to use against the Soviet Union. And that part of the operation worked very well.

Joan, don't worry on your next flight. If any of those Stingers were still operational, we'd have seen them in use already.

As to who armed Iraq, there is a big hint in that the weapons we encountered in Desert Storm & right up until now in Iraq are Ak-47s, RPGs, T-55s, T-64s, MIGs, Hips, Saggers, SA-6s & SA-7s, etc and not M-16s, M-1 or M-60 tanks, TOWs, F-16s, etc.
