By the way, when I say further towards the left I am refering to the out of control spending, increased government intervention in everything from education to how privately run sports leagues conduct business, and relative inaction or "hold the line" tactics on such issues as abortion and illegal immigration.

Once, just once I wish someone with standing would sue the likes of Dick Durbin or Howard Dean for slander. If I was in Gitmo, responsible for treatment of prisoners, I'd sue Durbins butt for libel and slander for his comparison of my actions to Nazi's and others.

Being a general populace republican, I don't think it would give me standing in the courts. Any legal minds out there care to figure out a way to make Dean's wallet a little lighter?

Look, Newbie, there is a big difference between the parties, particularly on this issue.

Republican's don't provide aid and comfort to the Enemy. Period.

Attention: Those of you who wish to support the Pinkos, the Democrats, and and other assorted traitors of the left in their aiding and abetting of the enemy, please let us know and we'll transfer your accounts to DUmmyland. That is all.

You don't see a difference between the Republicans & Democrats? The republicans aren't perfect, but at least they don't give aid and comfort to our enemies. Democrats call our troops in harms' way "Nazi's" and want us to treat our enemies better than we treat our own people. Democrats didn't want to respond to the horrors of 9/11, except to offer 'understanding' for our enemies and to call on our government to not respond in self defense. 'Let's just lock up all the terrorists and give them long jail sentences.......that'll teach 'em.' When the world trade center was attacked the FIRST time....what did the president (who just happened to be a democrat) do? NUTHIN' but lock up some bad guys and slap them on the wrist. Exactly who's side is the democratic party on anyway? There is a BIG difference between democrats & republicans. Go over to the democratic underground. You'll find lots of America hating friends over there.

"To hear such crude analogies from the stupid and the clueless is one thing. But from from senators? Columnists?..."

I think the answer is right there - senators and columnists are "stupid" and "clueless". I can think of no other groups that collectively are dumber and more useless than most politicians and most columnists. Being a senator or congressman does not necessarily connote being intelligent. Cases in point: Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Robert Byrd, Nancy Pelosi, Orrin Hatch, Chris Dodd, John Conyers, Dick Durbin. Need I go on?

It is simple. Keep doing what we are doing. The RATS spend millions to get out a message that the American public knows to be false. I always encourage my opponents on the left to have more rallies, carry more Bush=Hitler signs and to make sure they invite the media to the events.

Best thing for us is to encourage Dean. The other option is to get a very strong senate candidate in NY so that we make Hillary spend money.

I say about 4 and a half years.

The truly ironic thing is that it is the policies of the liberals that are leading to the conversion of the USA from a Constitutional Republic into a "national socialist" state. The recent actions of the Supreme Court and Congress (campaign finance reform, eminent domain) are leading us directly to that point.

The liberal left purports to hate the Nazis with a passion, but their policies are driving us into becoming them.

So, I am aiding and abetting the enemy and should go over to DU because I think that the current crop of republicans in power today have become too much like socialists? Wow.

Boy, some of you guys here kill me. I don't blindly support the republican party so that makes me an America hater? For your information, my problem with the republicans is that while the dems have slid into outright marxism, the republicans have filled the void by moving towards the left.

Another problem I have is that they seem to do little more than pay lip service to winning the war. When I start seeing them getting serious and taking real action against subversion and treason carried out by Durbin, Kennedy, Kerry, Newsweek, the MSM, etc., I will change my opinion. But up until now, the only response I have seen from republicans when it comes to the blatant treachery that seems to take place on a weekly basis is some harsh words (if we're lucky), warnings to stop or we'll say stop again, or, as is more often the case, nothing. They can say that they disapprove of the dems traitorous actions all they want but it means absolutely nothing unless something is actually done about it.

I consider myself a conservative but I'm getting the impression from some here that considering oneself a republican is of more importance than that.

IOW's, it is OK for you to be critical of the administration but it is not OK for Durbin, Kennedy,... to be critical of the administration?

Think about it.

Durbin is what is called a 'useful idiot.'

What do you have in mind by calling for "real action"? Arrest them?

If you mean direct plain-talk by the POTUS during one of his nationally televised speeches or press conference, I'm with you.

Suggesting making it a crime to speak out like Durbin will only alienate moderate, independent voter summarizing that it's an attack against free speech.
