The politicians on both sides are essentially the same. They bitch and moan about each others actions in front of the microphones yet if you look at their policies and actions you will see that they are stringingly similar; and all too often, heavily socialistic in nature. All of this name calling and arguing about this or that is just a smokescreen to take our attention away from this fact.

Take big whiff everyone, we are in a world of you know what. Brought to you courtesy of the republocrat party.

Liberals want to compare the US to the Nazis or call Bush a Nazi, fine. They can keep doing that, and I`ll keep calling Hillary "Hitlery". They can only wish they had so perfect a name for Bush.

As Michael Barone points out in a recent article, Durbin's speech was carefully written and presented. Durbin knew what he was saying and did it with the intent to enhance his and the Democrats power at the expense of the country and the troops.

Liberals have called conservatives nazis so often the term has turned from insult into one of flattery. You know you haven't made it in the world until you know you're described as a descendant on the most evil regimes in the history of mankind. Of course it devalues the real horrors of Nazism. Then again liberals don't care about history. Its enough they imagine their oppponents as capable of anything - and that's made politics a less pleasant form of public discourse.

Once, just once I wish someone with standing would sue the likes of Dick Durbin or Howard Dean for slander. If I was in Gitmo, responsible for treatment of prisoners, I'd sue Durbins butt for libel and slander for his comparison of my actions to Nazi's and others.

Being a general populace republican, I don't think it would give me standing in the courts. Any legal minds out there care to figure out a way to make Dean's wallet a little lighter?

"To hear such crude analogies from the stupid and the clueless is one thing. But from from senators? Columnists?..."

I think the answer is right there - senators and columnists are "stupid" and "clueless". I can think of no other groups that collectively are dumber and more useless than most politicians and most columnists. Being a senator or congressman does not necessarily connote being intelligent. Cases in point: Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Robert Byrd, Nancy Pelosi, Orrin Hatch, Chris Dodd, John Conyers, Dick Durbin. Need I go on?

The truly ironic thing is that it is the policies of the liberals that are leading to the conversion of the USA from a Constitutional Republic into a "national socialist" state. The recent actions of the Supreme Court and Congress (campaign finance reform, eminent domain) are leading us directly to that point.

The liberal left purports to hate the Nazis with a passion, but their policies are driving us into becoming them.

The nazi's were actually quite liberal. They believed in gun control, business regulation, protected classes, economic restriction, tariffs. After all, the other name for the nazi party was the german workers socialist union.
