Don't hold your breath. The republicans in power are in favor of this. Our government has openly declared war on us citizens and no longer makes any pretense about it.

The court really did cut the throat of the property owner in this decision if one has to face a legal battle with a locality or government entity.

The rule now is basically that we little people can own the less desireable land while big business and big government reserves the good land for itself.

Keep waiting. The national Republican party, from Bush on down, is statist through and through. This is NOT a problem to them.

Only 5 days. But with the sword of Damocles dangling over you, it seems much longer.

Virginia Republicans are already working on a bill to enact into state law protections against this kind of taking. I understand that Florida is working on a similar tack.

It will take time to fix the Supreme Court, but at least in this case we can use our legislative outlets to fix the problem. I'd rather have my constitutional protections, but I would imagine that in most states you should be a ble to pass a law since most people should be opposed to this type of taking of private property.

They have been conspicuously silent about this. Maybe I've just missed their outrage.

Tree of Liberty answered this in another thread: The solicitor general, the President's representative before SCOTUS, argued in favor of the city.

In other words, the administration, and therefore the Republican National Committee, support the decision.

That IS the republican reaction mate. If you're expecting something more, you're out of luck.
