Sen. Chuck Schumer's weekly Sunday press conferences often seem designed more to promote Chuck Schumer than to shed light on any truly dire situation in need of urgent attention.

Last weekend's briefing, though, was notably different.

Following a number of stories in The Post last week that highlighted the porous nature of small-airport security, Schumer called for heightened federal scrutiny over small airports.

Once again, the New York Post takes a break from hammering Gov. Pataki to promote New York's Democrat senators.

Putting aside the politics, how about the priorities? A Cessna is not a 747 laden with jet fuel and, as we have seen, is more likely to pancake against a building than cause any more damage than a car running into the same building.

But Hillary and Chuck are demanding a federal investigation. So how come, when actual lives were lost in the tragic Staten Island Ferry incident a few years ago, they were silent? Could it be they didn't want a federal probe because Chuck's wife was in charge and negligent?

ask JF'nK how it tastes to still be chewing on the info he received about security before 9/11...and he did the exact opposite of what the whistle blower asked, he sent the info to the same cover-up idiots that were sitting on the info...

and then told another whistle blower that he couldn't do anything about the info because he "wasn't a constituent"...

Just like he voted FOR picket-lines in Boston... until he voted AGAINST them in Miami.

The guy is a self-serving POS. One finger in the wind... and another up his a$$!

The heinous one was hurrying to a fundraiser.

Her SUV drove up on the tarmac towards her plane and refused to stop when the security guard waved them to stop.

The driver sped by and hit the guard.

Injured but not seriously.

Imagine if any republican had done such a thing.
