Brit Hume sort of made light of the situation in his newscast this evening. I didn't like that. Mr. Clements makes an excellent point and his case should be heard on it's merits.

Afterall, it sounds as if the construction alone will be bringing a significant amount of money into the community, let alone the jobs it will be providing.

One lone residence should not be allowed to stand in the way of progress, should it?

There's lots of architecture students who could have a design competition and generate all sorts of plans for review.

Architecture *students.* Meanwhile, “real” architects get shot down on a daily basis. Then there are the traffic impact and noise and other environmental inpact studies. There was a guy proposing to build a drive-thru carwash here that spent almost two million on various neighborhood impact studies.

(Meanwhile the junior high school across the street from him does nearly weekly car wash, raise-money deals without containing a drop or wastewater runoff. Go figure.)

That’s why I bring it up. This guy is a BS’er until he’s put in the time and MONEY – and lots of it, IMO. And he'll still lose, IMO.
