Go to the back of the class. I know, I know - I can only get the easy ones. From back here I can look at the others answers though.

Don't you mean ARTISTS? I can already spot a well known Cezanne, and the early Degas self-portrait is just right out.

You're on. We do Art Appreciation threads as well, concentrating on different artists, art history, and art trends.

Cezanne, Picasso and Matisse?
To: nuconvert
Yes, I thought #6 would be Gaugin also.
Another view of the artist:

I'm
TRULY not trying to be being obnoxious(LOL!): The stuff Frazetta was doing in the 50's influenced much of the graphic depictions used in movie marquees to the present day. Compare HIS paintings and the posters used as promotional material for Star Wars and Indiana Jones in the 80's and 90's and you'll see how Hollywood 'borrowed' his style. He was way ahead of his time in his hyper-realistic approach to capturing scenes that never existed, except in his head. [Besides, I loved the old Robert Howard books growing up!]
He has his own museum in Pennsylvania................................

{once again, please excuse my sacriligeous interjection of "Contemporary Graphic Art" into a Thread involving "High Art".
BTW, Picasso set a standard for careless womanizing that influenced such great Liberals as Woody Allen and Bill Klinton to this very day. Quite a legacy!

Throw in some Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, will you?
That guy drives me wild.

My favorite living artist is
Michael Leu I have several originals and they are signed personally to my wife and I. Even got one from him for a wedding gift. My aunt and uncle are close friends of his and he often stays at their home.
Whats strange is that I HATE CATS! But the vast majority of his work contains a cat.

Please ping me as well.
I really think that what separates FR from any other board on the web (left or right) is the depth and breadth of its non-political threads.
That's also what makes it such a colossal time sink.......

please excuse my sacriligeous interjection of "Contemporary Graphic Art" into a Thread involving "High Art". On the contrary, professional illustrators are responsible for preserving the techniques and traditions of classical art. Without the likes of Frazetta, Rockwell, Vargas, the methods of achieving such things would no longer be taught in most "art" schools.
I learned far more in my basic illustration classes about draftsmanship, layering, lighting effects, perspective, emotional content and just plain technique than in all my "fine art" painting classes combined.

Thanks, but kudos go to Phantom Lord for guessing that the artist was non-human.
My first guess was 90% of the artists from the past 40 years or so. I've seen way too much of that "art" at our local art museum.
