Ed Cox Announces Members of Senate Exploratory Committee; Names Prominent State Senators, Former Federal Officials, Policy Experts to Committee
NEW YORK, June 29 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Bringing together friends and colleagues from his more than 30 years of service to his state and nation, Ed Cox announced today the members of his Senate Exploratory Committee. The list includes a diverse group of experienced and talented individuals from both the private and public sector from across the state. The announcement took place today at the Women's National Republican Club in New York.
"For four years, I have watched our junior senator do a lot of press conferences, appear on a lot of television shows and travel back and forth across the country. But I believe that a Senator should focus less on making headlines and more on producing results," stated Cox, as he laid out the reasons for considering this Senate bid. "I believe the Federal government has a role to play in ensuring that New York is a place where our children and our grandchildren will want to stay, to work and to raise their families," he continued.
Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Former White House Chief of Staff Ken Duberstein, Ambassador William H. Taft, and Theodore Roosevelt IV head a list of many well-known government figures that have signed-on to assist Cox in building an aggressive campaign against Senator Clinton.
In a show of broad statewide support, a long list of prominent New York State Senators have also offered to aid the Committee as well as former State officials such as John Faso and Clarence "Rapp" Rappleyea, who both held the Assembly Minority Leaders' post.
In his remarks, Cox said of the group, "Some of them are well known for their service to our state and nation. Others have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help their fellow citizens and improve their communities. All of them are leaders ... and I am privileged to have them as part of my Committee."
Over the next few months, the members of the Committee will be part of an organized and deliberative process to build a strong campaign. Their expertise will be utilized to aid Cox in developing policies, priorities and strategies for getting more out of Washington for the betterment of New York. Cox has also recruited policy experts, economists, and business leaders for the Committee.
Throughout the summer, Cox will be traveling the state and continuing to garner support from residents, elected officials and party leaders. He anticipates making a final decision to move forward with a full campaign by the end of September.

They left off the dogcatcher!
Good luck to Ed. You're gonna need it. Going up against "Her Thighness" ain't gonna be easy nor pleasant.
You never know. NY is definitely a Blue state but they have elected Republican Senators before.
Don't forget D'Amato was a Republican and he was elected.
Whoever is facing Hillary, they need to FOCUS on WHOEVER Hillary will turn power over to when she runs for president. UNLESS you think she will do a John Kerry and hold on and be a senator that never shows up. Campaign on that, tell the people
that they deserve better than a part time senator they only shows up 1/4 of the time. and since she will on the campaign trail for president that she can't do her duties for the people of New York.. Stuff like that.
I think she will do a John Kerry because she wants to hold on to power. We need to knock her out of the Senate.
Tell Dole how well it works to quit while running. She won't, nobody else will either unless they make a political miscalculation.
