Rep. Peter King takes gloves off in replies to angry voters
WASHINGTON -- A lifelong boxing fan who himself trains in the ring twice a week, Rep. Peter King is not one to run away when it comes to confrontation -- even when it comes in the form of a letter from a constituent.
"I understand that you recently contacted my office requesting that I vote to censure President Bush," King, a Republican from Seaford, recently wrote Bellmore resident Harry Halikias. "I disagree with you in every respect. You are morally, intellectually and politically wrong. President Bush is an outstanding leader of outstanding integrity. Like Ed Koch, I thank God every night that he is our president. You should do the same."
Halikias, 28, a computer systems analyst, was taken aback by King's missive, which he said was an unwarranted response to his initial letter.

Rep. Peter King! G-d bless him!
He's a little rough.
It's nice to see someone show some guts. We need more like him.
"I think they should be honored they have a congressman who actually listens to them -- even if they are not making sense," King said. "I respond to them and they run crying to the newspapers. It's just like the kid who's a wise punk, then when someone takes a shot at them they go running to the teacher."
LOL
I read the whole article.
It's hilarious. Thanks for finding this one.
Two words: Hoo Ray.
Interesting. I knew King could be a little acerbic, but wasn't aware he would use this characteristic on the side of the angels.
He's been supporting SinnFein terrorists for years - now that he's been called on it, he's rushed to support the War on Terror.
Scare the liberals! (They're wimps.)
'Bout damn time a least one GOPer got some gonads.
This has nothing to do, however, with my admiration (and gratitude) for his standing steadfastly, here, in support of both our troops and their CIC... and, from your sig line: I suspect we are like minds, in this regard. :)
Didn't King get mushy on Clinton?
I'm just pleased and impressed by what he's done here, in this story. :)
What really irks me is the response of these Dems. They just cannot handle it when someone disagrees with them. I worked with a woman like that. I started a job several years ago and resolved not to discuss politics around my co-workers. This woman would come in every weekly meeting and just go off concerning Bush, Ashcroft, the Republicans, Haliburton, etc. Finally, after about six months of taking this crap, I began firing back, listing resources for my arguments. It shocked her that someone would dare disagree with her and shortly her tirades stopped. She also stopped speaking to me, which was no great loss. However, when I was in the room, she would hardly ever sound off, knowing I would nail her.
Isn't that just like a liberal. Tough talker when she figures no response will come but once she gets confronted she goes crying to the press.
If you think he's ruff...then you need to look into a mirror and see the antithesis of ruff.
That's my congressman!!!
Typical liberal woman... if you're not busily kissing her @ss, you must be "threatening" her.
Did you see her picture with the article? If she's twenty eight she has been rode hard and put away wet far too many times.
The metrosexual male is 28. No age was given for the harpy.
