Senator Durbin Bordering on treason

I have just returned from a hunting trip where cell phones don’t work and where TV and mainstream media trappings do not exist.

I was appalled to see and hear that our Senator Durbin from Illinois was abusing our men and women in the military with his acid comments about Guantanamo. Senator Durbin’s comparison of our military procedures detaining enemy combatants to methods used by Pol Pot, Hitler, and Soviet goologs – where millions of souls were exterminated – is outrageous. Those held at Gitmo are not soldiers; they are terrorists – killers of men, women, and children for a extreme religious cause. Have we forgotten we are at war with terrorism?

Our 100% volunteer military deserve better than to be denigrated by a politician who uses our troops as a political stepping stone for more power for his political party. Senator Durbin says he respects our troops, however, says one thing to our local citizens, but on the floor of the United States Senate says coddles the terrorists of war .

Imagine what 61 Illinois families, whose sons and daughters have died fighting terrorism for the cause of freedom for millions of Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan, thought when hearing what Senator Durbin said!!! Senator Durbin’s comments are beyond the pale. Senator Durbin owes these 61 Illinois family a letter of apology!

Our soldiers are digging these terrorists out of rat holes to put them in prison, risking their lives in doing so. Senator Durbin is coddling these terrorists, fanning the flame of anti-American hatred, telling the American people these terrorists deserve better treatment. Three squares a day, showers, home-cooked meals, religious music piped into their compounds; and Senator Durbin says the American military is just like Pol Pot and Hitler. Sorry. Wrong!

Is Senator Durbin drunk with power? Bordering on treason – aiding the enemy as the foreign press hammer American values with this comments? It is time for Illinois voters to realize Senator Durbin is no friend of our troops, our veterans. Senator Durbin has been in politics for 20 years and the state of Illinois is near the bottom in Veterans benefits received in our state.

It is time Illinois citizens refuse to vote for Senator Durbin in the next election.

Demographics

The Democrat Party has lost five of the past seven presidential elections and seven of the past ten contests, four of which by colossal margins, despite the liberal media, academia, the unions, non-voting conservatives, and lifelong Democrats who still think they’re voting for the likes of Harry Truman and John Kennedy.

They’ve gone from holding upwards of 60 U.S. Senate seats to holding 44 (plus Jeffords), despite the Torricelli switch and the corpse bloc in New Orleans.

They’ve gone from holding 30-plus state governorships to holding merely 22, despite those ardent Democrat felons and ghosts up in Seattle.

And they’ve gone from holding roughly 270 U.S. House seats to holding just over 200, despite those multiple votes for Democrats, by corpses and illegal aliens, down in Southern California.

Now, we could just extrapolate from that and conclude that things will be utterly horrific for the Party of the People in another 20 years, eh?

No, it will be worse!

For raw demographic trends never lie.

And that’s the dirty little political secret about which trust-fund liberals, spaced-out black helicopter types, and, yes, those token country club Republicans in the mainstream media, all are vacant.

Simply put, young adults with families, jobs, and ambition are fleeing the blue states in droves. And they’re moving to the red states. And the Electoral College is based on raw population. It’s not as if political party registrations matter.

As demonstrated by the above-linked article, Texas, Florida, Arizona and Nevada will be adding Electoral College votes over the next 20 years. And the deep South will be adding them too.

Massachusetts, New York, Michigan and Pennsylvania, on the other hand, will be losing Electoral College votes. Big time.

In fact, the *only* Democrat stronghold that’s adding population at a significant pace is the Golden State of California. But that’s already priced in – electorally speaking.

Lastly, for those of you who might assume or who might want to project that the influx of those blue-state denizens somehow will decrease GOP hegemony in the states to which they are migrating, actually, just the opposite is true. Again, the people who are migrating there have jobs and young families. That’s the entire reason they’re moving in the first instance. They’re not 85 year-old, by-rote Democrats. They’re not “librule” college students. They’re not welfare cases beholden to Democrat handouts. They’re not going to vote that much differently than the national averages. But, again, raw population increases mean additional electoral votes for the states to which they move.

Or to put it another way:

Texas

Bush 2000 = 59%.
Bush 2004 = 61%.
GOP Prez candidates since 1968 = 8/10.

Florida

Bush 2000 = 49%
Bush 2004 = 52%.
GOP Prez candidates since 1968 = 8/10.

Arizona

Bush 2000 = 51%.
Bush 2004 = 55%.
GOP Prez candidates since 1968 = 9/10.

Nevada

Bush 2000 = 50%.
Bush 2004 = 51%.
GOP Prez candidates since 1968 = 8/10.

The Democrat Party is not a growth industry. And just wait: for their season of discontent hasn’t even begun . . .

During 16 years as mayor, he has presided over the transformation of a grimy Rust Belt city into a sparkling jewel on the lake.

LOL. Then those 24 people that got shot within 12 hours was just a dream, I suppose.

I agree. What he did to Meigs Fields was a travesty.
