London's Live8 will be strictly alcohol-free, organisers of the all-day event have announced. But star acts and VIP guests will have bars

The concert on Saturday will see 205,000 music fans descend on Hyde Park from 1pm to 9.30pm

However, the only beverages served in the main site will be water and soft drinks, while tickets warn that bringing any sort of bottles and cans is strictly outlawed.

Isn't this suppose to be for poverty in Africa? Why should they waste their money on expensive alcohol, they should be able to do without it and give the money to the poor people in Africa. What a bunch of Liberalcrits, so phony. Guess the rich can drink and the poor can sweat it out in the park , probably pay expensive prices for bottled water. This whole thing stinks, just go on tv and collect money like other people do.

Great. The rockers get to go on the piss, while the audience have their tongues out. PC agenda is for the masses only!

I will not watch one minute of it, even if Pink Floyd is reuniting.

I watched bits of it - I saw Duran Duran with Ordinary World, and Dido did a cover version of Seven Seconds (she's not as good a singer as I thought).

But you can't watch the show without feeling the cringe-factor; the knowledge that you are watching PC crap!

Why not actually use the concert to give exposure to African bands? That would do more for their economy (albeit miniscule) than this stupid concert will.

They talking about giving money or forgiving debts. Where did all the money we been giving all these years go to. I did not see any effort in getting rid of the despots (is that the right word) or dictators or murderers who been killing their own people and hiding the money while people starve. When they get rid of the evil people who been taking the money from the starving, I might have another view.
