Bitten on the ankle.
Must have been a Yorkie shark.
"Chest deep water."
That'll teach you for gettin' chummy with the fishes.
I demand an investigation and congressional hearings, the creation of a coastal waters sharkbite administration and the appointment of a shark czar.
Once again, when your lower on the food chain...ya stay away!!! lol
Maybe they should try a traditional liberal solution and just make it illegal to feed the sharks.
The shortage of baitfish due to overpopulation forces them to seek other food.
What did Bush know, and when did he know it???
The tourists must have different flavor from the natives, since it is the tourists who get bitten. I see a brilliant product idea: to sell "the native essence" to the tourists, similar to the scents for hunters...
".. Just in time for the holiday weekend."
Reminds me of a 'Jaws' quote:
"Brody: We're not only gonna have to close the beach, we're gonna have to hire somebody to kill the shark..."
Funny, the sharks ain't et the first damned Redneck, only tourists and newbies! Got to keep on eating those Datil peppers!
As much as the reputation here out West for Great Whites is featured prominently, I am struggling the recall the last shark attack we had, anywhere on the coast from San Diego to Anchorage. Months and months ago. Of course, with our frigid water, you don't get a gazillion people all in the water at the same time - even the LA beaches have surprisingly few people in the water. But we certainly have a very high density of surfers and divers especially in Socal, up North here around Monterey Bay and in Washington in the Puget Sound. Makes me think taking my changes with Mr. Great White may not be as bad as dealing with the smaller, equally viscious and apparently more populous Eastern species.
That has just got to hurt!
Time for Seapuppy's shark tale. This guy takes a zodiac out about a mile offshore to the inlet shoals off Ocracoke NC and surf fishes in 1-2' of water. He see's all kinds of crazy stuff.

I fished Vera Cruz bar sat, sun, mon. did pretty good caught 2 yearling drum Sat.,3 more Sun,& 10 Mon. & quite a few 3-4# bluefish mixed in.
The real fish story was Monday when Sharks up to 6' came up on the bar in a 2 foot of water chasing all the finger mullett. The first one ran right into one of my rod holders! I backed up about 50' into more shallow water, about that time I got a hit on one of my light tackle shrimp rigs. The drum took me about 100' foot down the bar. I looked back at my rodholders & one was shaking violently so I figured I had another fish on another line(I fish 5 rods at a time)Anyway after a few minutes I landed the puppy I had & released it as I already had one on the stringer. Walked back to my rod holders & the drum was gone & 2 bluefish were bit off up to the head!
The Damn sharks stole my drum! About that time I hooked another drum on light tackle, as I was going down the bar out of the corner of my eye I saw a 5 footer go by right behind me! After I regained my poise I rushed out to my 2 holders, loosened all the drags & retreated about 100 yards! While I was backing up a 6 footer came right at me in 1 1/2' of water, got within 2 foot & turned & went off the bar. By that time I was hightailing it. For about a 1/2 hour sharks up to 6' crossed the bar chasing the finger mullet. There was acres of mullet out there. I saw at least 10 sharks, whether it was 10 or 3 I'm not sure. Finally they left, after about another 1/2 hour I moved back to my original spot & caught a 1/2 dozen or more drum. Needless to say it was quite an experiance!
I have fished out on Vera Cruz bar for 15 years & it's the first time I have ever seen sharks of that size up on the bar in a feeding frenzy, they were darting all about! I do believe they knew I was up there. I think they were bull sharks as I used to catch and tag sharks a few years back...Leroy O'niel was right,Don't ever tye your stringer to your body !!
Top that story !!
bruce
ps will be back in 2 weeks, planning on going back out there, any takers !?? lol
I think these damn sharks have converted to Islam. Eat the infidels!
