WOW! Three hundred dollars. That'll make him think twice about speeding. I hope he didn't have to sell too many of his investments to pay the fine.

Ross Perot handed the '92 and '96 elections to KKKlintoon.

I'd disagree with that. George H. W. Bush lost the 92 election in the debate where he kept looking at his watch. Perot didn't help matters any, but Bush ran an awful campaign.

96 we didn't have too many choices. Clinton had a growing economy to keep him in office, and the Dole/Kemp ticket was uninspiring.

Perot made both election cycles interesting, but the Repubs lost it because of mistakes they made. Nobody handed anything to Clinton.

We got a Christmas tree dropped off at our base camp in late Dec. of 68.No one knew where it came from at first. After a day or so word got around about a rich guy in Texas named Perot who flew a plane load in.

Apparently virtually every unit got one throughout Vietnam.I wrote and asked my parents about it to see if there was any news about who this guy was. There was apparently no coverage of it at all back home.

Sounds like Perot is the same kinda guy now that he was then.Takes care of business and doen't expect alot of fuss about it.

I wish the penalties for two incidents of speeding in a car were that low.

I respect your opinion. The looking at the watch thing was bad. And Dole did not really fire people up.

Still, I say, No Perot = No KKKlintoon.

How would Bill Clinton have handled this differently?

He would have had Monica walking beside him with knee pads on.

You are exactly right, IMO. I sincerely suspect that republicans that voted for Perot would have otherwise done what I did – go fishing on election day because it’s a better use of time than wasting it on unacceptable republican offerings.

I have no doubt he is a terribly egocentric, ruthless, political and kniving businessman (to get where he did that goes without saying) but it is refreshing to see someone who does charitable deeds where getting credit is secondary or even incidental to the deed itself.

I'm sure that he was simply trying to put a little more water between his boat and the Republican Dirty Tricks Squad that was chasing him.

If I had known now what I knew then, I would have voted for Dole in 1996.

1992 was my first Presidential election. I volunteered for Perot and sang his praises... until he quit. But even after he came back into the race, he seemed more interested in my vote than Bush ever did.

In 1996, Dole was lackluster. I wanted to give my vote to somebody who had some personality and panache. I didn't think Perot would be that great, but at least he would have been entertaining.

I've grown up a little since then.

Are you smoking dope?

Of course he had an affect on the election. He wold have won at one point.

I like the guy but if you think he didn't affect the elections you are a bit off.

I think you missed my point. I think Clinton would have won anyway, regardless of Perot's involvment.

Sure he had an effect on things, but he didn't "hand the election to Clinton" as another poster suggested. IMO. Clinton didn't win either 92 or 96. Bush and/or Dole Lost.

You're right on '92 but wrong on '96
The GOP lost '96 by running DOLE

Ok we or you can settle this now.

How many votes did Ross get in each of theses elections? And what was the spread? How many people do you think voted for Ross vs. Klintoon?

Riddle me that Buttman.
