Actually, I'd heard that Senator Cornyn was under consideration and I can't say that I mind that . . .
Not that a Senator couldn't be selected but in the last 33 justices chosen since 1937 only three have been Senators... I prefer the nominee be someone else as the Senators have a tendency/training to be compromisers, jmo.
