Juan Williams' recommendation is as good as our local Democrat house organ morning paper's endorsement. It means "Don't do it".

"Gonzales" is Spanish for "Souter".

It's the only way to play this game. The Democrats need a scalp, if for no other reason than to satisfy their donors. They won't be able to resist a long delay and a high-tech lynching. If they rise to a filibuster, Bush should nuke and that will stop all of the nonsense -- just the threat of a filibuster allows them to engage in all sorts of nonsense.

Check out "Luttig" -- he'd be a great choice too.

The libs are willing to get anybody on the court that is pro-abort.

And they see Gonzales as their best hope.

But based on her speeches, we can be quite sure that Brown is a reliable constructionist, that's for sure.

I will, I don't know much about him yet. Is he as good as picking Brown?

Alberto is our current Attorney General. He and W go way back to TX.

Supposedly, W wants to nominate the first hispanic to the court. There are some on the Circuit courst who have been mentioned.

Tony Snow does not think Alberto will be nominated.

He's a he, she's a black she --- both really good choices. I'm just certain POTUS is going for the gold and that shortly after this one is confirmed, Rehnquist will up and retire.

Gonzales's crime is that he strictly construed the parental notiification act in Texas, and in doing so the outcome favored a girl seeking an abortion.

The majority of the court, all Repbulicans, agreed with him that the statute dictated that result.

For that, he's been pilloried by conservatives for years.

He refused to legislate from the bench, and for that he's in the conservative doghouse.

It's silly. It's hypocritical beyond description, and it's just wrong.
