NEW YORK An attorney for Karl Rove, President Bush's chief political adviser, confirmed to the Washington Post on Saturday that his client did speak with Time magazine's Matthew Cooper in July 2003. But the lawyer said Rove never identified Valerie Plame as a CIA operative to Cooper in those conversations.
The attorney, Robert Luskin said that Patrick Fitzgerald, the special prosecutor in the Plame case, assured him in October and again last week that Rove is not a target of his investigation.
"Karl did nothing wrong. Karl didn't disclose Valerie Plame's identity to Mr. Cooper or anybody else," Luskin told the Post. Luskin said the question remains unanswered: "Who outed this woman? ... It wasn't Karl."
..."Cooper has said that more than one confidential source is identified in his e-mails and the notes of interviews he conducted in July 2003," the Post reported.

This is so much fun. Who needs "War of the Worlds" when you can watch the Democrats destroy themselves?
I want to get back to why exactly Plame was all hepped up to get her hubby to be the one sent to Niger and I want to know what he really was up to there.
It certainly wasn't looking into the matter of yellowcake in any great depth, though he later used the trip to call President Bush a liar.
This whole "retaliation by outing my wife" garbage was manufactured to obscure that aspect, IMO.

Very good.
:)
IMO, he "fancies" himself to be a James Angleton type, but he doesn't have the class or breeding to pull it off.
Summer, his notes will have lots of sources. The grand jury wants to know more than just what was said about Plame. According to the Appeals Court ruling that cites excerpts of the subpoena, they want his notes (and Miller's) on anything said about Wilson and his trip to Niger and uranium.
There definitely will be several names and that is why right off the bat I was very confident that Rove's name would be in the notes but it would turn out not to do with Plame and her role at CIA and/or recommending her husband.
Ruling can be read here: http://news.findlaw.com/hdocs/docs/plame/inregjmiller21505opn.pdf
I think you're exactly right.
O'Donnell should be henceforth refered to as "sperm bib".
Bingo! All of this about outing Plame is a red herring and I'd like to know why Wilson was sent to Niger. HE wasn't anything. First they tried to pin that on Cheney. They said Cheney wanted Wilson. Horse hockey.
Novak has said that when he is free to speak he will and people will be very surprised. That doesn't say Rove to me, that says RAT.
She's his nephew.
This story is set to explode, just because a lawyer said he didnt do it, wont make the story go away.
Right, just like the Downing Street Memos are set to explode. I think Karl is sleeping peacefully tonight...with a big smile on his face.
Human flame-thrower O'Donnell wouldn't last 15 minutes in the course of the normal business world. He shortly would find himself in a bread line somewhere wearing a strait-jacket.
Buchanan did a terrible hosting job letting this out-of-control violent man shout on and on. His mike should have been shut off, if nothing more than out of courtesy to Swifty John O'Neill.
On the other hand, however, Pat undoubtedly did a public service in giving the maniac his head. In fact, the ugly scene on TV works in our favor in the present Rove smear.

What gives????
See my post #76.
O'Donnell is a Nutter. If correct about anything, it's an accident.
And, what's really sad, is that some of the Dem sites don't care if he's wrong -- they just want to keep the story out there. Not a good way to inspire confidence or win over voters!
