Don't worry!  MAINE has!

Maine:  Do not smoke if your a foster parent!  The DHS says so!  It's ok if you sprawl on the couch at night drunk though!DHS creates smoking rules for foster homes, vehicles

These are NOT public places - they are private businesses..........

The group has been working with the proposal's main sponsor, Alderman Joe Davis, who cited the risks of secondhand smoke and the rising costs of health care in creating the proposal.

What a bunch of bunk!  Smokers pay MORE then their fare share of health cost.  If you tell a lie more then enough, people will believe it!

Second hand smoke?  Hasn't Ole Joe read the research from the Oak Ridge Labs on Second Hand Smoke???

Oak Ridge Labs, TN & SECOND HAND SMOKE

Statistics and Data Sciences Group Projects

I think any anti who tries to dismiss the findings of the U.S. Department of Energy labs at Oak Ridge, should be confronted with the question: "Are you saying that DOE researchers committed scientific fraud and that their findings on ETS exposure are untrue?"

Exceptions would include tobacco stores

Tobacco stores? If you can't use it because it's bad for you, why can you sell it? Well-meaning liberals, proudly half-stepping to a nanny state.

Police and city health inspectors would enforce the ordinance.

Yeah, note that the wording implies that they have the right to regulate behavior in/on your own property.

You vill conform and you vill like it!

Good catch! I hadn't heard that one yet, but I'm a little behind this morning.

I just can't wait until the socialists completely bankrupt my state. Then I'm going to buy it, because I'll be the only one in WI with enough ready cash to bail them out. I saved it all up by not smoking, LOL!

Then I'm going to use the Eminent Domain laws to kick out all of the Socialists. And then I'll open up my state to Freepers only with land at bargain prices. And we'll build a big-@ss fence all around the borders of the state.

And then my Life's Work will be done. ;)

Yikes, I should've know.

BTW, what's up with the "within 24 hrs of entering a vehicle"? Who's going to gauge that one?

Yet they let abusive and unstable people become foster parents and let convicted child molesters back into society.

Yes, it's all for the children...

Totally ridiculous!!!  These kids need good homes, but if the foster parents smoke that makes them the scourgeof  the earth.  And you KNOW that DHS will keep the smoking foster parents under a microscope from here on out.

It's a wonder that DHS can get ANY people to bring foster kids into their homes after this.  It's totally asinine.

uh...but from looking a the photo, I guess that letting the foster kids bounce around in the back seat of the convertible with no seat belts on while driving down bumpy gravel back-roads is perfectly acceptable.

...oh...I see now...mmm hmm...makes perfect sense.

...for Maine
