* A group calling itself the "Secret Organisation - al-Qaeda in Europe" has posted a claim of responsibility, reports.
* First explosion reported at 8.59am London time (17.59 AEST).
* At least one London bus blown up in Russell Square, reports of two others in Marylebone and South Kensington.
* Explosions reported at Underground stations Edgware Road, King's Cross, Liverpool Street, Old Street, Russell Square, Aldgate East and Moorgate.
* London transport system shutdown.
* Italian Interior Minister Guiseppe Pisanu says Europe now on state of alert.
* Berlin and Washington immediately upgrade security on transport systems.
* NATO describes attacks as "heinous crimes".
* International Olympic Committee does not believe attacks related to London yesterday winning the right to host the 2012 Games.
* Australian authorities investigating whether Australians may have been caught up in the attacks.
Yep...I'm waiting for Durbin et al to decry this with the same vigor that they decry our troops handling of enemy prisoners.
