"BIRMINGHAM TERROR THREAT"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Thousands of people are being evacuated from Birmingham city centre after police issued a terror warning.

Bomb squad officers have reportedly carried out a series of controlled explosions in the Broad Street entertainment district.


West Midlands Police said no vehicles are being allowed past the inner ring road.

Around 200 bars, restaurants and clubs are being emptied and searched

A spokeswoman said: "West Midlands Police are issuing a public warning to people after they received intelligence to suggest a threat to the city centre."

"Man remanded over hoax bomb call"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A teenager has been remanded in custody after being charged with making a hoax bomb call to the emergency services on the same day of the London attacks.
Anthony Ellitts, 19, from Wolverhampton spoke only to confirm his name at Dudley Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Army bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion after a rucksack was found in a bin in Stourbridge.

A 28-year-old from Sutton Coldfield has also been charged with the same offence after a similar incident in Birmingham."
