The deafening silence of Muslim leaders leads me to believe that the above statement is not true. It's time for us to get our heads out of the sand and face this threat head on.
I never said Islam is a religion of peace, in fact, I stated that the terrorists are adhering to a strict interpretation of Islam as well as keeping to the historical precedence of Muhammad. They are in their minds holding to a true form of Islam, and appear to be doing so accurately...which is to say, Islam is a cult that justifies murder, rape, slavery and military conquest. That being said, not all muslims interpret their religion in that fashion. I believe the great silence is because in their heart of hearts, they realize that the terrorists ARE practicing true Islam...albeit a radical one. But not all muslims are terrorists, and not all approve of terrorism.
