Blair thinks it is important that we understand the true cause(s) of terrorism and then proceeds to identify them as:

deprivation, lack of democracy and ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Now contrast that with what Churchill said (The River War, 1899)...

One has to ask, why can't our leaders (Bush and Blair) call a spade a spade? Blair says we must understand the root cause...and then sidesteps the opportunity to tell us what it is.

It is True Islam, of course...nothing more, nothing less. Churchill knew that over 100 years ago and had the guts to tell us.

We should make the reconstruction of Islam a conversation topic with EVERY moslem we contact. Ask them, in a pleasant and hopeful way:

We: "Are you a reconstructed Moslem?"

He: "Uh, uh. No, I am a true faithful moslem. What do you mean?"

We: "I mean, does the denomination you belong to require its members TO DISAVOW those parts of the Koran that call for Jihad and Dar-al-Islam, and to embrace peace with Jews and Christians?

He: "No."

You're giving them too much credit. There's two ways to looking at the issue:

1. The libs believe Western Civ is responsible for the world's problem through exploitation, oppression, racism, imperialism, et al and that 9/11 and other terror acts have been a reaction to this built-up resentment. They believe the WOT is a blunt response and that we fail to understand or empathise with the POV of the 'victims' ie the so called 'cycle of violence'.

2. We believe (rightly so), that regardless of history, politics, economics, etc., Islam's principle tenet is expansion via violent means, and that the mantle of victomhood is merely a cover.

Since libs are critical of Western Civ, any culture, society and/or enemy that successfully positions themselves as a 'victim' will have their support.

It really makes one wonder if the South, Japan & Germany had utilized this type of strategy. Oh wait, they did; which is why Lincoln, Wilson & FDR implemented all sorts of controls to suppress dissent that was really artful propaganda utililized by the enemy.

Other religions have had their split ups due to differences in theology. There may well be a branch of Islam that disagrees with the need for Islam to dominate the world. If so, they will stand up one day and divide the Islamic world into two groups. One group will continue with war and the other group will join the other religions who have already decided to behave tolerantly towards other religions. This is a long way of saying that some of the 20% will decide to live.

Fox and Friends was venturing into the therapy realm this morning before I changed the channels. Julian Phillips mentioned that more education need to be out there about why these people hate us. I reached my limit of tolerance and used my handy remote to shut him up. Information about what the fascist want has been out there for the longest, he just doesn't like the truth.

We really need a decent news program in the mornings during the weekend. There is nothing fair and balanced on Fox in the morning on Saturdays or Sunday.

Truth isn't what is sought anymore Dark Skies. Political Correctness is the rule of law. We claim to have Freedom of Speech in this Country, but when the TRUTH is spoken the person is vilified or called intolerant.

The Truth is the Truth, and NOT saying it doesn't change that!

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but [wanting] to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn AWAY their ears from the TRUTH, and will turn aside to myths." 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Although this Scripture was talking about Spirituality, the same can be said about political leaders.

Amazing, but true. Hits the nail on the head. The Truth is the cornerstone of spirituality. Lying for political expediency negates spirituality even if that's not the intent. Sometimes I wonder if our leaders are not immature spiritually and therefore in over their heads.

As Rabbi Daniel Lapin says:

Politics is nothing other than the practical application of your most deeply held moral and spiritual values.

When a leader obscures the Truth or tiptoes around it, a shot is fired across the bow of the Spirituality (cap intended) of his/her followers, his/her nation, and, indeed, the world.
