Catherine Zeta-Jones' stalker is neither famous nor infamous, the Oscar-winning star hissed Friday.
"You are just a criminal."
Zeta-Jones' comments were read aloud at the Los Angeles sentencing of Dawnette Knight.
The 33-year-old Beverly Hills woman pleaded no contest Feb. 25 to stalking Zeta-Jones and threatening to cut the actress' throat, shoot her in the head and "slice her up like meat on a bone and feed her to the dogs"--allegedly all in the name of what was termed a "girlish crush" on Zeta-Jones' husband, fellow actor Michael Douglas.
Knight was hit with a three-year prison sentence, $200 restitution fine and ordered to abide by a restraining order that calls for her to stay away from Zeta-Jones for 10 years, Jane Robison of the L.A. County District Attorney's Office said.
Held without bail since her June 3, 2004, arrest, Knight will receive credit for time served and good behavior. All told, the woman probably will serve less than one year behind bars, Robison said.
Zeta-Jones, who testified at last summer's preliminary hearing, was not in court Friday, but the Chicago star still made her antipathy heard. According to reports, prosecutor Debra Archuleta read from a letter by Zeta-Jones--a letter that both addressed the court and the stalker.
"This person," Zeta-Jones wrote of Knight, "was very articulate in how she was going to kill me...She was going to 'blow my brains out like JFK.' She was going to cut my throat the way 'O.J. did to Nicole Simpson.' She was going to slice me up 'like [Charles] Manson did to Sharon Tate.' "
Zeta-Jones' statement referenced letters she said Knight mailed to her and her family, including the one where Knight purportedly threatened to "slice her up like meat."
To Knight, Zeta-Jones had choice words, one of which was "evil."
"You have profoundly affected me in how I conduct my life," the Zeta-Jones statement said. "Your actions will be with me the rest of my life--how I will be constantly observing, looking over my shoulder."
For her part, the wire service reported, Knight said she hoped Zeta-Jones--"the victim"--would someday forgive her. "I am sorry," she said.
Knight, who attempted suicide in her jail cell a month after her arrest, was found competent to stand trial in September 2004.
Last seen onscreen in Ocean's Twelve--a production Knight allegedly tried to crash--Zeta-Jones will be back in theaters with The Legend of Zorro, opening Oct. 28.
There are rules for threads such as this you know!
I'm sorry... They did not have a photo, but I'm sure it will be forthcoming shortly.

After I saw the first 15 minutes of "Chicago" (I then promptly fell asleep out of sheer boredom), I was thinking what Knight said she was going to do.
Gotta say, Ms Zeta is an Alpha chick!
LOL! Not quite what I had in mind though.
Dawnette... is her mom's name Dawn?
You wanna be in the limelight? You want notoriety? You want people to think you're 'hot-sh_t-on-toast'? You crave the celebrity and all the good things that go with it? Well, here's some of the bad stuff too. Balance is everything. Enjoy!
Manson didn't slice up Sharon Tate. Susan Atkins did.
Zeta-Jones doesn't seem to be too bad. She keeps her mouth shut about politics and seems to be surprisingly patriotic.
So Zeta is soooooooo upset she couldnt even be bothered to attend
