Thanks, NN. We lost FR just as the storm was making landfall.

In the end, Dennis was no Ivan. Thank God. A lot of prayers helped greatly. Now, there's still a lot of energy in Dennis that will be shed in the form of rain.

Dear Lord, keep the floodwaters low and off your children. Amen.

Around 80 miles ENE of Dennis and we got a lot of wind but no real damage. Only rained a fair amount.

Power went off around 9:00 A.M. but came back on (to my surprise) around 7:00 P.M.

Had a generator but could not get on FR all day.

Yes--our prayers were answered. Thank you for checking in.

Last I heard yesterday, there was a prediction Dennis would stall over the MS/OH valley for up to three days with potential for serious flooding.

Good morning. Has anyone heard how Grayton Beach fared?

Wasn't that the big coincidence--FR crashed just before Dennis was making landfall. Bad timing.

Good news that you and your property are safe and secure.

The Ft. Walton and Panama City newspapers are free access this morning. And the Pensacola paper has extensive coverage.

Glad to assist. A few of us made it over to the FR alt thread on Yahoo yesterday--very worried about our fellow FReepers in harm's way.

I almost, said almost, feel guilty saying that yesterday was noneventful. Other than losing FR.

Went ahead and finished off the post-Dennis survival champagne last night.

One broken tree limb hit the house, but no damage, thankfully.

Are you ready for the EMILY threads?

The initial tracks that I've seen have Emily staying as an Atlantic storm and not a Gulf one.

Hopefully she'll make a track northward away from land, but it is still to way early to tell.

Montgomery checking in. Lot of wind and rain, no significant damage, never lost power. I did lose 2 young pine trees, but they were ones that had had thier roots damaged during Ivan and we had tried to save them.

They had come back and were getting healthy, but thier shallow root systems combined with saturated ground from Cindy brought them down again. Don't know if we can save them a second time.

Talked to my brother in Ft. Walton Beach. He has an Oak tree laying across his brand new roof (Ivan damage just got repaired 2 months ago). He said they never lost power in Northern FWB. Took a ride, lots of signs blown down, some roof damage, lots of trees down. HWY 98 was breached on Okaloosa Island again, and as of last night they were not letting anyone on the island so he isn't sure what the waterfront looks like. he said FWB has a good amount of damage, but nothing like with Ivan.
