It mentions Operation Sword, but it sounds like Operation Scimitar. I am not sure about this so I had not edit anything within the article.

Sure been quiet in Iraq lately.

The more terrorists killed...the fewer left.

The town is some eight miles almost due south of Fallujah and about the same distance from the western edge of Baghdad.
It is one of those towns that often house various elements of the local insurgency. Our Marines go in, clear it out, only to have to go back in some months later. This was a routine place for the Marine 2/2 Warlords to visit last year when they moved between Fallujah to towns southward some twenty miles in depth south of Baghdad. My nephew used to routinely visit this town on recon patrols. Bottom line is this whole area will continue to support the insurgency because many Ba'athist/Sunnis live in these towns surrounding Baghdad. Just to the south east of this town going down route 8, are about ten towns/villages that all continue to harbor terrorist of different flavors. Since Fallujah is pretty much under our country now, they had to find new more permenant safe houses to make car bombs and the like. Hopefully with new partially seasoned Iraq army and security forces, becoming available all these towns will get a new cadr of Iraqs that will not be easily intimidated or blown up, but will provide an effective force to further drain the swamp.
