Sen. McCain [R-AZ] Strong Words On Supreme Ct Nomination at Dallas Fundraiser: 'During the campaign, President Bush said he will appoint judges who will strictly interpret the constitution... thinking anything else is either amnesia or ignorance... elections have consequences... whomever he nominates deserves an up or down vote and no filibuster... and an up or down vote is what we will have'...
Oh, I forgot to ping you!
McCain will be 68 in 2008, this is his last chance, if he runs I am voting libertarian, traitor.
McVain is NEVER on our side, he is always on McVain's side.
Double goodie...maybe Specter will follow McCain's lead! Or is that asking too much? :0)
Did McCain actually use the word "war" or is Drudge making that up because of what upChuckie Schumer said?
We sure as heck tried. He's still a favorite with the RINOs, though.
My gosh! What the hell got into McLame???
No. It will be filled. Could be a bloodbath, though. But maybe not. But it will be filled.
Isn't this the same guy that sat out in the Red Sox infield and said that he WOULD NOT back the "nuke option", if Frist went with it?
So, how does McCain plan to go to "war" over these nominees, if he has already announced that he won't stop the filibuster?
On his meds today, yet still past his career expiration date.
I think he senses that this will be a right-left galvanizing battle. There's no middle here - either you strictly interpret the Constitution or there is no Constitution. It's really that simple.
Gonzales has made it crystal clear where he is, ' . . . the Constitution is whatever the Supreme Court says it is.'
I think the left will use whatever they can to oust a strict constructionist, but it's going to be a pretty easy vetting process using W's publically spoken criteria: "Someone who will strictly interpret the Constitution and not attempt to legislate from the Bench."
That's okay, Howlin. Saw the article, and had to come in. Then I'm reading the whole thing and there's Cyber. LOL!
It comes as no suprize that McCain bashers will ALWAYS find the dark cloud regardless the size of the silver lining < /sarcasm >...SHEEECH, will he ever get a decent break when something goes your way!
Agreed and he certainly won't get my vote. I think the man is unbalanced. But I also think he's going to try like Hell to change his image with the base of the party and that for the most part it won't work.
McCain wants to have Bush's job. Siding with the dems over the SC would be a deal maker for the party base.

Regardless of whether he used the word "war" or not, it is clear what he said. If he waffles he will be held to account. Any presidential hopeful has to approach this this way because he/she wants to get his/her nominees through the process if elected.
Gas prices rise faster than the speed of light on the HINT of a cloudy day over an oil field.
Gas prices move down in geological time but only if the message is confirmed by carrier pigeon AND smoke signal.
I understand that. But when Chuckie uses the term war, we know he's just being an hysterical idiot.
If McCain said "war" so be it. If not, it's irresponsible for Drudge to use that term.
That's all I'm saying.
