Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Tuesday added more new judges to Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, including a San Jose lawyer who has been instrumental in the city's legal strategy toward fighting gangs.
The governor named Carol Overton, a senior San Jose deputy city attorney who has worked at City Hall for the past 18 years, to Santa Clara County Superior Court. He also named Franklin Bondonno, a Los Gatos environmental lawyer, to a Santa Clara judgeship, filling the vacancy created when former Superior Court Judge William Danser was ousted as a result of his criminal conviction in a ticket-fixing scandal.
In addition, Schwarzenegger appointed federal prosecutor Elizabeth Lee to San Mateo County Superior Court.
The governor's latest judicial selections continued his bipartisan approach to naming judges, as all three of the new judges are Democrats. Schwarzenegger's judicial appointments record is under increased scrutiny as he considers candidates for a vacancy on the California Supreme Court.

No surprise. Some of his closest advisors are dems and GReens.
If anyone ever mentions a change in the Constitution and Arnold for president again, I'll slap them.
He made a huge, huge mistake he'll regret later.
Kennedy Konservative aka TrojanHorse(R)
LOL! I am thinking the same thing! Pass the stomach pump!
That's our Gubby! :)
G'Nite!!!
Am I to understand these judges are criminal court judges and not appellate?

This is what liberals mean by bipartisan!
Yes--not appellate. The article says Superior Court (i.e. trial court) for all three.
;-)
Hey!! At least he's got an 'R' after his name! Doesn't that count for something? I guess not, well, not to him anyway.
"as he considers candidates for a vacancy on the California Supreme Court."

Well, he better pick a judge who follows the Constitution for CA's Supreme Court to balance it out. And yes, I think he should have picked more moderate judges to fill these three vacancies as well.
I do criticize Arnold, when it's warranted. But the Arnold haters NEVER give him credit for anything, wouldn't give him credit, if he would solve all the problems of terrorism, social security, medicare, taxes and world hunger.
Anyone who wants to have their opinions respected, should form those opinions based on reason, not knee jerk reaction and a mantra: Arnold can do no right, everything is Arnold's fault, and McClintock can do no wrong. Then accuse those who are basing their opinions on reality and logic of being Kool-aid drinkers.
Folks should have thought once , twice, three times before voting for a Q factor and hype and hot air instead of a conservative.
Movie stars are notoriously expensive to maintain.
And FO, who keeps using the 'HATE" word, btw?
Moderate dis. :-P
I wonder if there are any conservative Judges left in Santa Clara county to nominate?
Here we go again, Bustamante would have made such a great governor.
T'aint a bit of difference on display between them ,, if you ask me, at this point.
The budget just keeps growing and growing.
What ya gona do if the Gub retracts his reforms and 'compromises'?
What a load! It ain't about McClintock and it ain't "knee jerk". And no, "everything" is not Arnold's fault, and no one said it was. But there is an issue with what Arnold has done and continues to do, and what he isn't doing--acting like the fiscal conservative he claimed to be during the recall election and many freepers touted on this website.
What has he done? Unprecedented debt, outrageous spending, appointment of leftists, conservancies, global warming, subsidized stem cell research, subsidized hydrogen highways, subsidized solar roofs, subsidized after-school-programs, toll-roads (i.e. tax increases), etc. etc. etc. That is "reality and logic."
The only "mantra" I have seen is from those who continue with the "Bustamante" BS (apparently soon to be replaced by the "Villaraigosa" BS) while failing to offer any factual support to justify the Kennedy-like leftist actions of this Governor.
