I thought all he said was "his wife got him the job" I think if you look at the "who's who" that her name was listed as Wilson's wife.
So who really outed her?
I say let's get back to Sandy Burgler and the missing docs from the National Archive.
Rove said that, but that does not constitute a statement that Plame was covert. At most it constitutes a statement that she worked for the CIA, but that was not a big secret anyway, and in any event is not a violation of the law, by itself.
Lot's of people work for the CIA. Porter Goss works for the CIA. There, did I violate the law by telling you that?
We don't know who "outted" her. In fact, there is as yet no confirmation from the government that she ever was covert at all, but we're assuming that to be the case since we would not have gotten this far otherwise.
It's quite possible that no one actually "outted" her. Novak said she was an "operative" but never said "covert." According to Novak, his source did not use the word "operative." According to Novak, he was the one who came up with that word.
Apparently, he did not consider that to be a statement that she was "covert." It was only after Wilson accused Novak of blowing her cover that it became clear that she was covert. So you might say that Wilson himself blew her cover.
Looks like they're smokin' crack over at the BS newsroom. Don't they know it causes permanent brain damage?
