Hey guys, Im a young republican, and maybe its just that I'm young and confused, or maybe its because I can't get a straight fix on this story. But my question is, wtf happened? Was there a leak? What did Rove do? What is the straight story? All I hear is that there was a leak of a CIA agents wife's name that was undercover. Why are the Dem's making a big deal of this? I feel as if them making a big deal out of it would be putting the identity of the agent more in jeapordy than Carl Rove saying the ladies name. Im just confused. So did Carl Rove say, "Oh, so and so is an undercover CIA agent"
WHY CANT THE MEDIA GIVE ME A STRAIGHT STORY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED?
Thanks,
Pork

Very good, it describes Rove to a "T". The Democrats try and try and they just don't have it, or get it. They are in a very bad state of affairs when they have nothing to chase except this issue and its going nowhere, in fact, it'll backfire on them. (once again)

The dirtly little secret is that everyone in DC press circles already knew that Plame was a CIA employee. Why? Because she and her pitiful husband are insufferable social climbers and publicity whores!
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
an act that appeared aimed at punishing a Bush administration critic, Ms. Plame's husbandThe "journalist" who authored this article, one "Wayne Slater", has just committed the journalistic equivalent of malpractice. No unbiased, fair-minded person could draw that conclusion by looking at the evidence.

"Mr. Rove has come under attack for his role in the unmasking of a covert CIA operative"
Really? I was not aware of that "fact."

The leadership of the Dim party constantly attacks, mocks, ridicules, and belittles my faith, beliefs, and lifestyle. Is there any wonder that they do the same to Mr. Rove?
According to Dims, Rove is a liar, a cheat and I am small minded, easily manipulated, a bigot, homophobic, and just plain stoooopid.
Is this their way of wooing a vote from me? If Mr. Rove is under attack from these people, then I feel I am in good company.
I almost feel sorry for them, but they are like the wounded guy who tries to squeeze off one more shot before before they bleed to death instead of making peace with their maker. They are the refuse swirling at the bottom of the toilet bowl the needs a second flush.
So many attacks and assaults that have been much to do about nothing have left them bitter and angry. Sore loser does not begin to describe them.
At least when the emperor realized he had no clothes he had the sense to run and hide. These people seem to embrace humiliation like a teddy bear. They can't get enough of it. They drink deeply and often. They will never grow weary of running in to themselves.

It's not the first time that President Bush's most-trusted political adviser has been accused of political hardball or dirty tricks. But usually, there are no fingerprints.
Must have left some DNA

" Obviously the leftist-MSM thinks the public is dumb and has no other access to facts. So 1970's of them."
It's like Dan Rather's on air response the Friday after he showed the fake memos. He used his newscast to show brief pictures of superscript from the seventies (which looked nothing like the document) to prove the documents were authentic. In the previous century it would have convinced enough people.
In the 21st century there are too many sources available to enough of the public that one cannot get away with it any more. The truth WILL percolate to the surface, and quickly.
The Dems and MSM haven't a chance with this sort of smear any more.

TS Eliot didn't know he was writing about the Dims' pursuit of Rove when he penned that! But it just struck me as fitting to a T.

As another poster remarked, now a lack of evidence is conclusive proof...

I imagine you could ascribe most of the politicians in DC to the personalities of Old possum's book.
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
"A decade ago, Mr. McDonald was advising Democrat Lena Guerrero, a rising political star, when Mr. Rove leaked word to a reporter that Ms. Guerrero, whose resume claimed she was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas, didn't even have a degree."
Rove showed that a political opponent was lying about her educational background? How unethical of him! And it's the same thing now - Rove is being pilloried for telling a reporter that Wilson was lying, which he was.

I saw Menendez on TV last night; what a clown, a pathetic clown.

"What is amazing to me is the fact that these articles are so full of errors, that it makes me wonder if these Newspapers care whether what they are printing bares any resemblance of truth or not."
My sister has a fairly responsible job with The Seattle Times, and I'm often amazed at how much misinformation is in her head. There's a culture in the newsroom that's like an invisible shield that keeps certain facts out.
To: EagleUSA
it's the Tom Delay effect. No effectie GOP leadership will go un-smeared, regardless of the hypocrisy of the accusers.
Sandy Berger anyone?
