I am a middle class white suburban mother/housewife with 1.5 children. I am college educated and belong to my local county Republican Women's group. I KNEW ABOUT EVERY AIRPLANE CRASH, SHOT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD AS A FORM OF SUICIDE CALLED ARKANSIDE, MYSTERIOUS DEATHS OF UNKNOWN CAUSES ETC. THAT HAPPENED TO ABOUT 56 PEOPLE WHO WERE CLOSE TO THE CLINTONS.

There were books, videos, lists, Inet articles galore during that time and you did not have to be a "lunatic fringe" person to have access to the info. It was everywhere.

And it was mostly unsubstantiated junk, IIRC. Just like what goes on today at DU (though I'd argue not nearly as bad), before the 2000 election when FR sort of 'moderated,' this forum used to drown in this conspiracy stuff. I hope it doesn't return to that. (I have to laugh when a bunch of people who've been here 3 years assert that FR was at its worst during the Schaivo killing - they should have been here when FR flew banners for Justin Raimando's Vince Foster site; a good number of members just "knew" that Clinton was behind the OKC bombing; a couple people had elevated Alan Keyes to a Christ-like level; etc.)

You'd better really know what you're talking about when you go and accuse someone of murder.
