From The suicide bomb squad from Leeds
A relative of one of the bombers was arrested and taken to London for questioning. Intelligence agencies say that at least two of the men had recently returned from Pakistan. All four were British, but with origins in Pakistan. MI6, MI5 and British diplomats were in touch with the Pakistani authorities last night to try to track down any connections with terrorists there. Security sources confirmed that none of the bombers was on any MI5 file, although one had links to a person investigated by police.
From Profile: the Leeds bombers
[Shehzad] Tanweer's family originally came from Faisalabad in Pakistan, although he was born in Bradford on December 15 1982. He grew up with his brother and two sisters in Yorkshire but according to his uncle, Mohamed Azfal, spent six months in Pakistan and Afghanistan last year....
[Hasib Mir] Hussain was known as an outgoing, gregarious boy who drank and dated girls, until he visited Pakistan two years ago. On his return his friends found he had become deeply religious.
As some American Arabs have said, if they aren't stopped, searched, and profiled - they aren't getting on that plane. ;-)
That's right, it's time to start profiling any non-muslim groups or individuals who could possibly retaliate against muslims.
That's the only profiling that makes sense to the damned libs.
Reading that one of the bombers recently went to Pakistan to study religion... gee, you think that maybe he should have been watched when he returned?
Political correctness will be the death, both literally and figuratively,of us all.
I'm 72 year old Caucasian woman and have got searched twice. I never knew I looked so dangerous.
"Studying religion" is a euphemism for attending a training camp.
Profiling is nothing new - we do it in our everyday lives. None of us are mind readers.
Except call it affirmative action
Right-on! If we had been "politically correct" in WW 2, we would all be speaking German and Japanese!
