Memo to Dems: Turnabout Is Fair Plame

Man Does He Look ShiftyOkay, we admit it, we were overthinking the whole Rove-Plame thing. In speculating that this wouldn't destroy him or the White House, we had been hung up on how he didn't break the law. What we realize now is that liberals finally have an issue where the headline hurts Republicans more than it hurts them: "White House Aide Identified Undercover CIA Agent." Now, shut up. Shhh. Zip it. ZZZip. No, really, quiet. Repress natural urge to pedantry. For once, allow Americans' short attention span work for you. And whatever happens, do not let Michael Moore make a movie about it. Let the Republicans shoulder the responsibility of having to explain how Karl didn't do anything illegal, or how when he identified the agent it was in a context that wasn't so bad, or that it's Matt Cooper's fault, or why this is all just a massive smear campaign. Soon, they'll be debating the definition of "is" and you can start rumors about Laura being a lesbian. Fun!

It appears that the smarter libs know that they are headed into a trap and are now trying to get their forces to back off a bit. Unfortunatly for the author, there are too many dumb Liberals out there for her advice to be followed. Look for idiots in Congress to suggest hearings for Rove. That will be combined with the new tack of Rove being 'a liar' with the push to ask Bush to fire him. Bottom line: The nasty losers have blown it again, and now Wonkette wants them to shut up before the trap smashes down on their heads.

So does Wonkette have lesbians on her mind lately?

"The nasty losers have blown it again..."

Except in this encounter between the White House and a woman, it's the woman who got blown...

And it's just as disgraceful.

Their own. And they know that having their manufacturerd headlines being found out as lies isn't good for them either, ala 60 Minutes II.

The strategy Wonkette is embracing is "lie about the GOP, and they will make themselves look bad by exposing the lie." Oh yeah, sure thing.

So does Wonkette have lesbians on her mind lately?

I stopped checking her blog months ago.

I doesn't even function as a gossip site. If I want to read Page Six of the NY Post I'll go to the NY Post.

Who needs an over-rated lib who thinks constant references to anal sex is oh so sophisticated?

I think most of the note was intended to not make Liberals feel bad about blowing it again. I think it was subtle sarcasm mixed with anger that they missed again.

you can't use "smart" and "wonkette" in the same sentence - that hag isn't capable of commenting on anything more involved than rear posterior region sexual relations.

Schumer today on FOX claimed that President Bush had stated flatly that if anyone in the WH were involved with the leak, that person would be fired.

What the President actually said was that if anyone in his administration were the leaker, (and in the context of deliberately breaking the law), they would be dealt with.

Now first of all, it doesn't appear that Rove broke the law by mentioning that Wilson wasn't sent to Niger by the WH, and that his wife may have proposed his name to go.

And second, Chuck Schumer is not empowered to decide who gets hired or fired in the WH, nor can he demand the President to prejudge the punishment for someone who most likely broke no law and had no malicious intent, much less when the investigation is incomplete. Go pound sand, Chucky.

Let's break her comments down a bit here.

"And whatever happens, do not let Michael Moore make a movie about it.

Good advice. He isn't liked much by liberals and Hollywood types in general. He appeals to the delusional twits at DU. Let him make all the movies he wants.

"Let the Republicans shoulder the responsibility of having to explain how Karl didn't do anything illegal"

This is easy. He didn't do anything illegal, and there is nothing more to explain.

"or how when he identified the agent it was in a context that wasn't so bad"

Uh, he is not record at any time as having identified ANY agent of the CIA.

"or that it's Matt Cooper's fault"

Cooper called Rove, not the other way around. Cooper called ostensibly about "welfare" and went on to WMD, and Wilson's trip to Niger that Cheney sent him on. Rove should have hung up on him at this time. Instead, he did the nice thing, and told him that neither VP Cheney nor CIA boss Tenet authorized the trip, but rather it was Wilson's wife, who apparently works at the Agency. Neither her name nor her position at the Agency was ever mentioned by Rove.

"or why this is all just a massive smear campaign."

Well, the Republicans are merely telling the truth, and the Democrats, as usual, can't handle it.

"Soon, they'll be debating the definition of "is"

Wrong. Republicans won't be debating the meaning of "is" anytime soon.

"and you can start rumors about Laura being a lesbian."

Hey Trampette, burn in hell.
