Yes, pretty heavy lifting on a State Department pension. And let's not forget the house in The Palisades, a tony neighborhood in DC, that had a sales price listed of $765,000. Add to that at least 2 late-model cars, tuition for the oldest son, remodelling expenses for the kitchen (as documented in Vanity Fair), and the start-up expenses for his business.
Where did he get all of the money?
