Excellent post, G. I keep asking VOM to make available the portrait of the Wurmbrands that appears in the newsletter, so I could put it on the wall with Pope John Paul II and Father McGivney, but that haven't done it yet.
I remember coming across an unrelated book about the Church's martyrs throughout the centuries-recently released-in a Christian-themed book store a few years ago, when I was in downtown Brooklyn attending a video-opera composed by Steve Reich.
It was a bit of a morality play, structured around three distinct acts, each one portraying an irreversible scientific discovery-some that portended disaster-during the course of the 20th Century, culminating in the first genetic clone of a sheep, i.e. "Dolly."
Reich is a wonderful composer if you're a believer.
Even though he's an Orthodox Jew-I believe-people of any religious faith can glean some fascinating insight from his musical oeuvre, even though he may be a bit too dogmatic in impressing his opinions upon the audience at times.
