VERY impressive!
"In his book "In God's Underground," Wurmbrand describes the various horrors he suffered in prison: sleep deprivation; starvation diet; forced to race around his tiny cell for hours until he collapsed; beatings with truncheons and boots; water funneled down his throat until it filled his stomach, which was then violently kicked; the soles of his feet flogged Inquisition-style; guards urinating and spitting into his open mouth; drugged into delirium; and terrorized by dogs kept inches from his throat. "
I believe him when he states he saw Christ. TRULY a man of God. Voice of the Martyrs is a testament to what people will go through for Christ.
Maybe it is a slow news day for WND or maybe they want to remind us of what true Christians will endure for Him.

they want to remind us of what true Christians will endure for HimWhich is always a good idea! We've been getting the VOM newsletter for 7 years, I guess, and it's really been life-changing for me and the kids.

" Surely, this Jewish convert is now before the Beatific Vision!

I met Pastor Wurmbrand once, more than thirty years ago. At a campus speaking appearance, he removed his shirt to show the scars, layered one over another over another on those portions of his body: stomach, chest, back and arms that would normally be covered. He said he received his wounds from nazis as well as communists. He had an aura of saintliness about him that was overpowering. He was a living saint. As Catholic as I am, I must nonetheless say that I have never been so overwhelmed by any of my Church's clergy as I was by this holy man of God. I had not noticed that he had gone to his reward in 2001. May he experience heaven's very richest rewards.
