The reason that Santorum's spokesman was "outed" is because Santorum is tied or trailing Casey in the polls. He is vulnerable.
This stunt is being done by the media/DNC to try to pry off support from Santorum from conservatives because they assume that the right believes that gays should be burned at the stake.
Meanwhile, to lose Santorum in the Senate would be a tremendous blow to the right and those who support family values because he is THE MOST VOCAL SUPPORTER OF FAMILY VALUES in the Senate.
Yes, he supported Spector and that was a mistake but to lose him in the Senate would be terrible for the traditional values crowd.
Think about it. Who is as outspoken about traditional family values as Senatorum?
One can love the sinner but hate the sin. One can also respect other individual's choices but refuse to condone his/her actions.
It looks like some of "them" are playing along with the Dems.
Two plus two equals five.
That's a mistake.
Running commercials for pro abortion, gun grabbing, tax and spend big government liberal Arlen Specter was a conscious decision.
Doing campaign appearances for Arlen was a deliberate course of action.
What do you think of Santorum's support for raising SS tax? Raising the minimum wage? Redistributing wealth by giving newborns a $500 gift at birth? Voting against adding border agents to protect the border? Lining up for photo ops with Schumer, Kennedy, and Clinton?
What do you think of his votes in the last Congress that took him from being the 2nd or 3rd most conservative Senator to being LEFT OF CENTER?
Santorum either lost his way because of Potomac Fever or he never was the conservative that he claimed to be. He is puritanical, to be sure, but I don't believe that he has any credibility left in claiming to be conservative.
Your post is very kind, hansel, thank you.
When it comes down to it, I just don't trust Santorum anymore, for reasons other than this issue of his aide, although that certainly doesn't help matters.
And, yes, the Democrats will be gunning for any Republican they can. That is to be expected. I consider their opinions worthless.
What I'm interested in is the level of commitment conservatives/Republicans have toward working to advance fiscal and social conservatism. Recently, Santorum has come up wanting.
That said, if I were in PA I'd probably vote for his reelection. But as a presidential hopeful, no thanks..
