Look, Bush chose his nominee and backup-candidates weeks ago. Right now, whoever he selected are undergoing extensive background checks. No nanny-gate crap, no IRS issues, or any other potential scandals will be allowed to crop up to surprise the President after he makes his announcement.

Someone has to break the law before someone else can blow the whistle on it.

Where does the Sandy Berger burglar trial stand now? I haven't heard anything on the news lately.

They can't afford to be outwitted again....especially since it's for all the marbles (i.e., Hillary).

Think of it this way...If it's not Hillary-ious, who else is there for them to try electing. There is a steep drop-off of electability for anyone else.

Do you know that if this "scandal" had been fabricated a mere fifteen years ago, back when the dying socialist "mainstream" news media was still relevant, that Rove would be long gone by now and Bush might be facing impeachment?

Of course, Bush would never have been re-elected thanks to the campaign-ending, memo-supported revelation by Dan Rather and CBS News that in 1972 Bush failed to take a physical for his National Guard unit.

Ping me, too. So far, you've been dead on.

Please add me to Ping list.

I'm always secretly hoping that Rove and the Pres. will have an airtight bombshell denial ready to be dropped at the appropiate time, and put lots of eggs on liberal faces. Kinda like what we "Bloggers" did to Dan Blabber.

Or maybe I need another cup of coffee?

You might actually consider what he says, because so far he has been dead on in how this would unfold.

This is not about Rove, it is about the Supreme Court.

I disagree with this assessment. My own personal belief is that this whole "scandal" is the left's attempt at Watergate Redux. The goal is to bring President Bush down by either forcing him to resign or by impeachment and removal. Thankfully, the so-called "alternative" media (talk radio and the Internet) have been developed in the past 30 years to tell the truths that the MSM won't.

As a thought-experiment, imagine where the Plame Blame Game would be right now, if the only sources of news and information available were those that had been available in 1973.

The MSM still don't fully understand the power of the Internet and talk radio; they're only starting to realize that their old methods of forcing events by manipulating the news don't work any more.

Everytime one of these Clymers tries to stick Rove with this mess, someone needs to ask them: So Judith Miller is in jail protecting her source, Karl Rove?

Which is exactly what they are pushing. If Rove is the source, then Miller is in jail because she didn't want to disclose him as her source.

If anyone believes that, I have several bridges in NYC and the San Francisco area to sell them.

it's called chess.
When Bush does send up the nominee, he has the photo op of "meeting with the four Senators" to bolster his claim of being bi-partisian while stuffing a orginalist down their throats.

"None of it matters, because the Bush Administration knows exactly what is going on."

First, thanks for posting your comments on this situation. Secondly, I agree with you 100% on the above statement. It continually amazes and annoys me that the Dems think they can get away with this chit week after week after week! They just read the same page in their playbook and insert a new name!

But hopefully they'll continue to cry "Wolf!" as their party self-destructs. They need to be exposed for what they are.

Even if I had the smallest of liberal bone in my body, I can't imagine standing behind a party that behaves this way. It's so blatantly transparent and so childish. How moderate Dems can stand this is beyond comprehension.

We are not in disagreement. The Supreme Court is the reason why they want to remove Bush at this stage. Remember, they NEVER thought Kerry would lose.

I have yet to hear anyone report that fact!

The cartoonist in your # 7 left off Rumsfeld and.........don't forget Trent Lott. When people say democrats don't have an agenda, they're wrong. Democrats agenda is to try and discredit every Bush supporter and every Bush appointee. I bet everyone reading this thread can name a republican the democrats have demanded resign or be fired.

Examples:
"The two highest-ranking Democrats in Congress on Wednesday wrote to President Bush demanding the resignation of Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Harvey Pitt."

"The rancor over political partisanship in U.S. public broadcasting heated up, with 16 Democratic senators calling for President Bush to dismiss Kenneth Tomlinson as head of the Corporation for Pubic Broadcasting because of concerns that he has "actively undermined the nonparitisan, nonprofit corporation."

Democrats demand resignation
Democrats demand retraction
Democraas demand apology
blah, blah, blah,
