• -4 November 1979: American diplomats taken hostage at US Embassy in Tehran, Iran and held hostage for 444 days
• -8 December 1979: Shahriar Shafiq, former officer in the Shah’s Army, assassinated in front of his Paris home
• -23 July 1980: Ali Akbar Tabataba’i, diplomat under the Shah, shot and killed at his suburban Washington, DC home
• -1980: Car bomb detonated in London, killing 3 people; Kourosh Fouladi, an MOIS member was arrested and imprisoned until 1989 for carrying out the attack. In 1996, Fouladi became a member of Iran’s Majlis.
• -8 June 1982: 100 terrorists armed with clubs, knives and machetes attacked the Aligarh dormitory in India where group of Iranian students were holding a hunger strike to protest executions in Iran; Shahram Mirami was killed, 9 others seriously injured
• -20 June 1982: MEK supporters gathered in Dallas, TX were attacked by a gang armed with knives, clubs, rocks and bottles; one hospitalized
• -29 August 1982: Ahmad Zolanvar, MEK supporter, seriously injured and later died, others attacked by two attackers on motorcycles in Karachi, Pakistan
• -10 September 1982: Abdol Amir Rahdar murdered, 20 others seriously wounded when terrorists armed with knives and machetes attacked a demonstration in India that was protesting human rights abuses in Iran
• -6 December 1982: Assailants armed with knives, chains and guns, attacked MEK student supporters distributing MEK publications in Paris, France; a number were hospitalized for injuries
• -8 February 1983: Esfandiar Rahimi, MEK supporter, stabbed to death with a knife and machete in Manilla, Philippines
• -April 1983: Truck bomb attack on American Embassy, Beirut; 61 killed, 120 injured
• -August 1983: Air France 747 jumbo jet hijacked after takeoff from Vienna Airport en route to Tehran. Plane blown up by hijackers on the tarmac of Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport
• -23 October 1983: US Marine Hqs in Beirut destroyed by Hizballah suicide truck bomb attack under orders from Tehran; 241 dead, 80 seriously wounded.
