I have been there too ... and indeed, it is a pretty place. However, I also visited the bookstore, and noticed something I didn't find very pleasing. The women who were in the store, working or otherwise all had short haircuts. I mean like military short. It was rather depressing at the time, and this new development simply didn't surprise me. Our denomination would make Wesley spin in his grave...

Our denomination would make Wesley spin in his grave...

My mother was a Methodist. and I was raised as a Methodist. I still belong to the Methodist Church. My husbands ancestors brought Methodism to this part of PA. What has happened to my church??? I don't attend often because the pastors more and more seem to view their position as a job rather than a calling. I think that the Protestant churches that have the volunteer/elected positions in the hierarchy have been more easily infiltrated by those who want to destroy religion than those denominations with a more rigid, less elected hierarchy. At least, I hope that's the cause. If so, we just need to get more conservative Methodists involved in running the church, and get the radicals back in the pews where they may learn something...
