(JND) - As I sat down to read through some scripture Thursday night, I reached for the remote to turn off the already-turned-on TV.
It was then that a sit-down session between Jon Stewart and Howrad Dean on Comedy Central's The Daily Show caught my attention. Howard Dean speaking on national television...it's like watching a car crash in slow-motion.
I couldn't resist.
I set down my Bible, turned on the laptop, and prepared my fingers to record what sound bytes might spew from Dean's mouth. I didn't have to wait for long.
"I have yet to find a reference to gay marriage in the Bible." said Dean...
...I'm not the first, and I won't be the last to say this: "Howard Dean, you sir are a complete idiot."
...In a Q&A session by GotQuestions.org: "The Bible clearly and consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; I Cor. 6:9). God does not create a person with homosexual desires. A person becomes a homosexual because of sin( Rom 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, does that make it right for them to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality."
The Q&A also goes on to say, "To give sanction to homosexual marriage would be to give approval to that lifestyle, which the Bible clearly and consistently condemns as sinful. I believe that Christians should stand firmly against the idea of gay marriage....

The rest of the article contains some more excellent points.
A ping to even more 'brilliant' statements by Howard Dean.
This may be indeed Dean's finest hour.
Oh, wait, there's no Leviticus in The Communist Manifesto, which is what I assume Dr. Demento means when he says "Bible".
I know my Bible (Catholic) opposes gay marriage.
The Canadians knew this year ago when Dean was a governor and occasional guest on TV news shows.
Why should the Bible writers have mentioned it?
How did Dean make it thru medical school?
(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,
Wow, these libs sure have changed their tune!
Ahh yes...Howard Dean...who, during a presidential primary debate, said his favorite New Testament book was the Book of Job
True, but there are no references to Howard Dean, either--oh, wait, here's something about the jawbone of an ass...
Hey, Howard, what does the Bible say about bike paths?
True! Every reference to marriage in the Bible describes a union of one man and one woman. There are, however, plenty of condemnations of homosexual behavior in the Bible.
Dear Dr. DUmass Dean,
Here's more study material.
Genesis 1:27-28; Genesis 2:18; Genesis 19:1-8; Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-8; Romans 1:24-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Ephesians 5:31; 1 Timothy 1:10; 2 Peter 2:6-7; Jude 7.
Dr. Dean, I looked in my concordance and it appears that the Bible also says nothing about my shoving an umbrella up your hiney and opening it. When would you like to schedule that procedure?
Yep, all the christians out there will be sure to rush and vote for the Democrats after they hear this.
