Unocal's board of directors has endorsed a sweetened, $17-billion (U.S.) takeover bid from Chevron, rejecting a higher offer from one of China's state-owned oil companies.
Good for unocal for rejecting China's offer.
CHINA is a Godless Commie Leadership of Fools, who still have Slave-Labor Factories!!!!!
Beware they will not take this lying down!
Boycott China Products!!!!
Look at the label before you Buy!!!
dont support the Godless Commie Govt. of China!!!
For the uninformed sheep - most of Unocal's production is outside of the US. They devested most of their US properties in the US several years ago. The majority of their production is in Thailand (gas, not oil) and Indonesia. Additionally, they own ~12% of the pipeline out of Baku and bid positions in Bangladesh. Very little of their production ever hits the US shores... It'll be interesting to see the reaction of folks when the chicoms go after another US based oil company (Marathon?) Folks in the US buy more Chineese goods at Walmart than the total value of Unocal...
No, congress is too busy making sure that reproductive rights and condoms are being equally distributed to the world. the government doesnt have time for trivial matters like national security and protecting us from people who have threatened to nuke us if we defend taiwan. the real arch villain here is clinton. it was he who normalized relations with this monstrosity and further enabled them by allowing them a seat in the global economic community.
200 billion out of how many trillion of our debt?
200 billion is what percent of their GDP?
Think it over.
to the country that sponsored "Old Ronery".
Cheers!
That's about 700 dollars per person in the US...Might be a bit steep price for me to pay in terms of a special tax but worth it to keep the US from being Sino-black mailed...200 billion is still chump change in a multitrillion dollar economy!
"But isn't Chevron a French company? (Just kidding)"
Naw, that's Chevrolet you're thinking of.
(Just kidding)
