IA.

His choice was incredibly sound.

Your post will remain, you won't.

Thank you! It puts the final touch on the victory, to the lamentations of the girlie-men.

Normally, I'm against abortion...but in your case, I might rethink that.

I am hoping that Estrada receives Robert's seat myself, provided reports are true he'd like to be reconsidered for appointment.

I wouldn't mind him as a Supreme, but very least I wish to see him advanced. Nothing can be done to rectify what happened to Bork at this time other than seeing it does not occur again. Estrada we can still salvage from the fate that went to Bork.

Fred doesn't believe Roberts is a 'movement conservative'. Personally I'm not interested in whether he is or not. I only want someone that will interpret the Constitution. I do not need an activist from right or Left appointed to feel comforted. Mind, I wouldn't mind someone like Brown, but in private life she is an activist. It's pleasing to hear but ultimately not important one way or the other.

He believes this could conceivably mean Roberts would not overturn R v W if given the opportunity. I disagree. If he's a constitutionalist he'd do it on principle, movement conservative or not. The 'french fry' verdict is an example of someone with a constitutionalist mindset.

Here's an often-critical-of-Pres.-Bush Conservative saying "BUMP!" for the quick approval of Judge Roberts, and glad that we were not sold out on this one.

Truly enjoy seeing the libs with their ____s in a wringer over this one!

You want a real hoot? Listen to the "I voted for Bush and I love your shoe" Liberal girlymen and bimbos calling Rush and Sean and complaining that they are "conservatives" and think Roberts is a Liberal. Those people are such a bunch of losers. Actors they are not. Liars they are.

If Roberts lives up the the billing he's getting from those who know him 'on the right side of the isle', Bush will have done a good thing here. He'll deserve a lot of credit for it. I'll be right in there giving him well deserved accolades for it, starting right now.

I think Judge Roberts will vote to overturn it, if not on principle, then out of fear that his wife will hit him with a frying pan if he doesn't.

LOL.

I can't imagine being married to a pro-life activist and upholding roe vs wade then coming home and saying "Honey, yea, um, you know that thing you fought for and that court case you hate and wanted overturned, well, funny thing today....".

The french fry case involving that little girl is the perfect example of judicial restraint, I'll concede that I probably would have been swayed and been more activist then he was, so I'll give him his due.

Watch President Bush's approval numbers rise significantly. His poll numbers are down because of conservatives, this pick should put his approval numbers right back up.

The only two conservatives not happy about Roberts is Ann Coulter and Fred Barnes.

Yeah, and even Fred Barnes was semi-positive about it. He was hoping for Luttig or Alioto...

I wasn't aware of Fred Barnes being critical.

He just said that it was the "safe" pick among the conservative choice on Bush's list. He was hoping for someone more like Scalia or Thomas - a bit more outspoken and fierce. But he did say that Roberts was an acceptable choice.

Sounds like a good choice to me. I've been hearing about Judge Roberts' education, life and experience. Then a clown like Bill O'Reilly says Roberts is "boring.".......makes one want to heave.........

Fred Barnes needs to buy a clue. He's Mr. Conventional Wisdom. He's pleasant and harmless but little else.
